( ;D --> Boris Blank is the musical part of Yello. He composes the songs and is responsible for the characteristic sound, having the reputation of a perfectionist. Boris considers himself as a constructor of music, starting composing with manipulation of self-recorded samples and finishing the tracks with the participation of invited professional musicians. Prior to his musical career, Blank worked as a truck driver. As a child he was very interested in music, but had no formal training. He never learned to read musical notation but always was interested in producing new sounds and samples. Blank began experimenting with tape loops and echo effects as a teenager. He recorded watersounds from a bucket of water and played sounds on a homemade bamboo flute. It was in this period he met Carlos Perón. Later, they formed Yello, with Dieter Meier as a conceptualist, vocalist and lyricist. He also composes and produces solo music, under the name Avant Garden, which is strictly intended for licensing to the film and TV production industry. This music is currently handled by Extreme Music. Blank was blinded in one eye in a childhood accident while playing with gunpowder and empty bullet shells. Boris Blank lives in Zürich, with his wife, and daughter Olivia. He is the second cousin twice removed of Scottish businessman Stewart Milne.)

He has been releasing music under the alias ASC since 1999, and originally gained popularity as a drum and bass producer. Since the late 2000s, he has been one of the key artists in the emerging autonomic genre, along with artists such as dBridge and Instra:Mental. Since he redefined his musical persona with the Autonomic sound back in 2009, it seems like San Diego's ASC has been on a quest to prove he can do everything. Whether that's been running a label, performing a two-hour techno DJ set made entirely of his own material, releasing an ambient album or reviving his Mindspan alias, he did it all—except it seemed like he didn't make drum & bass anymore. While 2010's acclaimed Nothing Is Certain wasn't your average drum & bass record, it was mostly 170 BPM, and sometimes it feels like James Clements has been avoiding that tempo like the plague ever since. An enormously busy two years later, he finally re-emerges in familiar clothing with that album's spiritual sequel, Out of Sync, on New Zealand/Berlin-based Samurai Music.)

Having been involved with the promotions end of the industrial rock and IDM music scenes since she was a teenager, and running drum & bass and dubstep record labels with her husband, ASC, writing her own music - after she'd been promoting other people's for years - was a logical progression. Drawing inspiration from synaesthesia and her melting pot of musical influences ranging from Portishead to Skinny Puppy, Vaccine's style has been recognized as being considerably more melodic and not necessarily as dancefloor-orientated as her male cohorts. XLR8R magazine noted her "subtle melodies and echoed vocals", as well as stating that "(Vaccine's) constructions aren't necessarily main floor rave fodder, but rather, comedown music for the 6 a.m. afterhours." She is also notable for being the first female producer signed to a label in dubstep, Hotflush Recrodings, within what was up until then a genre whose producers were almost, if not entirely, male. Her DJ mixes as well have attracted attention for their careful commitment to precise blends, mixing in key, and unexpected multigenre inclusions.)

( ;D --> Vaccine returns to Auxiliary with a digital only offering for our Transmissions series. Four tracks here from the depths of the Vaccine vaults, sitting mainly around the 140 bpm mark. These tracks are actually from a few years back, when Vaccine was working with the likes of Nonplus and Hotflush. She had asked us to put them out since there was still demand for them, so we thought they'd be a fine addition to our catalogue. First up is the EP's title track, Decryption. Super high tech percussion and strange sounds trigger off huge bass and stark eerie manipulated vocals. Dark science. Bad Habit goes a little lighter and introduces a vocal to stunning effect. Nurse drops the tempo to 85bpm and keeps the bass heavy. Fans of the Autonomic podcast may remember this one. Finally, Electrolyte (Decryption Part 2) is the light to Decryption's darkness - an alter-ego of sorts. Stunning stuff from start to finish.)

( ;D --> Although his music is often consigned to the new age bins of record stores and the bulk of his work has been released on labels more closely associated with that classification, Robert Rich's solo and collaborative recordings have proven extremely influential on a range of new-school ambient and experimental artists. His association with older space music pioneers such as Steve Roach, Kevin Braheny, and Michael Stearns also makes him one of the few of that generation to have interfaced creatively with the new wave of experimental electronic composers. A California native, Rich began experimenting with electronics in the late '70s before attending Stanford University, where he completed a degree in psychology. While at Stanford, Rich's involvement in the university's prestigious Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics expanded his interest in electronic composition, as well as bringing him in contact with a wide range of nontraditional, non-Western musical ideas. Rich's performance of several all-night "sleep concerts" during this period also helped solidify an aesthetic focus on psychoacoustics, perceptible in early recordings such as Geometry and Trances/Drones.)

Not Not Fun describes the record's sound in these terms: "Swirling sand dunes of sound, cold tonal winds and veiled loops sweep in across pulsing, runic techno patterns." As author behind the works of Inkamera, recently releasing on the latest Bass Agenda "The War On Error" compilation, as well as her previous 12" release on Last Known Trajectory "Existendo", Victoria Lukas has been participating in some very interesting projects also with labels like Frustrated Funk (appearing as "Vita" on a 12" album) and Clone with Gerald Donald of Dopplereffekt as "Zerkalo". Victoria has even written the scores for some short films like Spectographies (upcoming), Septiem Promenade, and C19H28O2 (Agnès), expanding her artistic career beyond the contraints of the club scene and into realms where her unique vision and direction can flourish in different ways, while representing the Electro scene in a very elegant yet mysterious manner.

( ;D --> According to founder Claus Larsen, Leæther Strip is, and always will be, only him. Larsen was born on November 13, 1967 in Aalborg, Denmark. He first released music under the name of Leæther Strip in 1989. However, his 1995 release G.A.W.M.U.S. (Getting Away With Murder U. S.) included two early demos from 1982 and 1984, with the latter forming the unknown beginning of the band according to an interview conducted with Claus Larsen. In 1991, Larsen created a side-project called Klute in which he also remained the sole member. It can be argued, and is by many, that the sound of Leæther Strip throughout the early 1990s helped define what is today known as electro-industrial. In a search performed on MySpace on December 1st, 2008, 294 bands had listed Leæther Strip (or "Leather Strip") as a musical influence, although the true number of bands influenced by Larsen's work is undoubtedly much higher. In 1994, Claus Larsen drastically changed the sound of Leæther Strip, with the release of a synthesized semi classical album. Conceived as a soundtrack to a fictional film, it was named Serenade for the Dead. The releases since then have reincorporated electronic dance elements, and have redefined Leæther Strip into what Larsen calls, "symphonic electro".)

Electronic music first caught his attention in the mid-90's, and he started DJ'ing in 1997. By the end of 2000 Joris began building a small studio to produce his own music, which led to his first release called 'muted trax pt.1' on Keynote. His first EP was massive success, filling the record boxes of Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier, DJ Rush and Technasia. After the success of 'Incident', Voorn released his debut cd album called 'Future History' on the Sino label. Encompassing 3 years of ideas and inspiration, the cd contains 20 diverse tracks, a seamless soundscape that represents his arrival as one of the most relevant techno producers of this time. In the summer of 2005 Joris Voorn's new personal outlet called 'green' saw the light of day. 'A dedicated mind' was released as the first EP, which garnered success globally. He also completed his debut DJ mix CD for the Fuse club in Belgium. After Dave Clarke, DJ Hell and Technasia, Fuse presented Joris Voorn to mix part 4 of their international resident's dj mix albums. The mix contained over 40 tracks of timeless techno music mixed with the help of Ableton Live for its endless mixing and editing possibilities. In 2006 the sophomore release under Voorn's Green label, named 'MPX_309', was a crossover techno work that was played out by techno, minimal, house and trance DJs. During the same year Voorn created his second album, released worldwide in June 2007. This new piece of work called 'From a deep place' featured many different styles of electronic music, ranging from atmospheric interludes to broken beats, house and deep soulful techno. The focus point of the 'From a deep place' CD has been the listener rather than the dancer and was received enthusiastically by the electronic music community. Some of the works were edited to more dj friendly tracks for the vinyl release of the album. During the summer of 2007 Joris has been touring with his new live performance in support of his album release. More recently, Joris has been focusing on collaborative efforts producing remixes for respected and diverse artists such as Robert Babicz, Nic Fanciulli, Slam, Steve Angello, Sebo K and Jerome Sydenham. The 'Dark Flower Magnolia Mix' for Robert Babicz turned out to be another summer anthem in electronic dance music, and was a favourite of DJ's like Sven Vath, Dubfire, Pete Tong and John Digweed among many others. In 2008, following the success of his resident advisor podcast, Joris was invited to produce episode 14 of the Balance DJ mix CD series from Australia. constructed a layered and seamless mix of electronic dance music on a double CD. An epic mix in the very best sense of the word, Balance 014 achieves the rare feat of combining variety and consistency, making it perfect for trainspotters and dancers alike. The band has experienced several line-up changes, with vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter Robert Smith being the only constant member. The Cure first began releasing music in the late 1970s with its debut album Three Imaginary Boys. Their second single, "Boys Don't Cry", became a hit; this, along with several early singles, placed the band as part of the post-punk and new wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. The Cure's popularity increased as the decade wore on, especially in the United States where the songs "Just Like Heaven", "Lovesong" and "Friday I'm in Love" entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart. By the start of the 1990s, the Cure were one of the most popular alternative rock bands in the world. The band is estimated to have sold 27 million albums as of 2004. The Cure have released thirteen studio albums, ten EPs and over thirty singles during their career.)
