Com Truise
www.myspace.com/iamcomtruise
http://comtruise.com
( ;D --> Com Truise is one of the many personas of producer and designer Seth Haley, born and raised in upstate New York and operating out of a 12’-overrun apartment in Princeton, New Jersey. An admitted synth obsessive, Com Truise is the maker of an experimental and bottom heavy style he calls “mid-fi synth-wave, slow-motion funk”.
What do you call musicians like Com Truise? He seems easy enough to pin down—throw out some words like “nostalgia,” “synth-wave,” “eighties,” and “electro-funk” and you’ll scrape by—but to be truly insightful about his music is tough, because art that is so blatantly referencing certain things in a certain way while also making them weird and new and unique is confusing. How do you classify something that is so obviously both vintage and current but is too fun to call postmodern?)

Lackluster
www.myspace.com/lacklust3r
( ;D --> One of a kind is indeed the expression, which best describes the electronic music auteur Esa Ruoho, regardless whether we are talking about the organic quality of his music under the artist name Lackluster or just the artist himself in his private life. Esa Ruoho is truly an original; a homegrown and uncompromising composer and an eccentric explorer of science and nature, whose artistic career might seem at first glimpse to be just a sum of happy accidents. However, the illusion quickly dissolves after carefully examining his biography. Instead of coincidence, there is only talent and hard work.)

( ;D --> London based musician Matan Zohar taught himself to produce dance music at 13 years old, and by 16, he had taught himself to DJ. By mid-2007, Mat Zo had remixed for Andy Moor, Markus Schulz, and he became a DJ household name after Tiesto hired him to remix "Driving To Heaven", and the remix appeared on Tiesto's internationally recognized "In Search Of Sunrise 7" CD compilation. Mat Zo quickly worked up the ranks to become one of the most sought after progressive dance music producers in history. He has played in such cities as Holland, Germany, Ukraine, Ibiza, India, and various cities in England. Mat Zo's global reach multiplied when his Zoned monthly radio program was picked up by Afterhours.fm the summer of 2008. In the past couple of years Mat Zo’s fearsome reputation has grown with th release of a swathe of stunning productions. “The Lost”, “Near The End”, “24 Hours”, “The Found”, “Superman” and the huge collaboration with Arty “Rebound” have been just some of the highlights of this prolific producer’s output.)

Pattern & Grid World
FL_amazon
( ;D --> 2010 EP release from producer/musician Steven Ellison (AKA Flying Lotus). While the album Cosmogramma was high in concept and wide in musical collaboration, Pattern + Grid World pulls the focus back to Steven Ellison and his machines. These machines are speaking from the go, as "Clay" introduces itself in a fog of synth and vocoder and gives way to one of the many surprises here, the schizophrenic ping-ponging electro of "Kill Your Co-Workers". Drenched in alternating melodies, it's a synthetic counterpart to the grand string and harp arrangements of Cosmogramma, making acclaimed illustrator Theo Ellsworth's subtly psychedelic cover image of vision-through-noise all the more intimate.)

( ;D --> This is their second full-length release. In charge of their own Production Company and studio for the last 15 years, they have profoundly applied their wide range of talents to the realm of electronic music. Meanwhile, booka shade's own redefinition of dance music found its expression on their debut album, memento which drew on their back ground as pop producers and their ability to sculpt nocturnal yet melancholic music for the dance floor and beyond. When it was released at the tail end of 2004 memento hit with velvet coated sucker punches its prowling understated menace combined with Walter and Arno's knack of penning melodies and creating evocative mood mapping out a fresh alternative for electronic music.)

( ;D --> Kirlian Camera are one of the pioneers of the Italian electronic scene.
Active since 1979 under the name SUICIDE COMMANDO, the band changes name in 1980 releasing the first demo-tape DAWN... and the self-titled mini-album in late 1981.
The early records contain a mix of synth pop and new wave/dance songs, while towards the end of the 1980s' Kirlian Camera's music has progressively become darker and darker, turning into a monumental electro-gothic sound. Nearly every release since then has explored different fields, from industrial to ambient, from experimental to trip-hop.
Mind of Kirlian Camera has always been Angelo Bergamini, coupled by many female vocalists as Simona Buja (1980-1987), Suzanne Reddington Gardner (1987), Bianca Hoffmann Santos (1988-1989), Emilia Lo Jacono (1990-1999) and Elena Alice Fossi (1999...).)

( ;D --> Juno Reactor are a musical and performing act known for the cinematic fusion of electronic, orchestral and global music. Central to the project is Ben Watkins, and his collaborations with a constantly changing ensemble of musicians from across the world, including percussionist Mabi Thobejane from South Africa along with countrymen Amampondo, Eduardo Niebla, Steve Stevens, Taz Alexander, Ghetto Priest, Sugizo and recently Yasmin Levy. They are also famous for collaborating with composer Don Davis for the musical score of the film 'The Matrix' as well as other films. Originally Juno Reactor was formed as an art project in 1990; Ben Watkins wanted to collaborate with other artists to produce and be involved in exciting projects that were not commercially driven. He wanted to create experimental music/non musical soundtracks that would work with installations, art pieces and film projects.)

( ;D --> First signing to Ominim Records (outside of mainstay artist and label founders Yimino) was Alan Starck, an eccentric electronic innovator who has produced a gem of an album, aptly named Farrago. Initially alerted to the guys at Ominim by a good old-fashioned demo tape, Alan’s playful and humorous electronics immediately appealed and a creative relationship was born. Alan is inspired musically by an eclectic mix of Detroit Techno artists, Prince, Miles Davis, Stravinsky and Rachmaninov.)
