Two Dutch brothers notorious for their bass heavy, groove filled IDM and experimental approach to all forms of electronic music. Always forging new sounds in their constant sonic evolution. More recently they’re breaking into the dubstep and DnB scenes, bringing their own unique form to these ever shifting landscapes. Roel Funcken officially popped up on the scene in 2010, with his solo debut, titled Vade, out on Ad Noiseam. But fans of electronic music, and IDM in general, have been tracking this Dutch musician for over a decade prior, when, along with his brother, Don, the duo has released some of the genre defining music on labels such as Djak-Up-Bitch, Schematic, Sublight Records, Neo Ouija, n5MD and others, as the one and only Funckarma.)

( ;D --> After a long hiatus on social media channels, the IRIS-satellite unexpectedly reports back to their homebase, including a 50 second snippet of "Third Strike" - the opening track of their new album "Six" - and the message above. The notion of a remote satellite suddenly starting to broadcast again, from somewhere in outer space, is a metaphor that works well on two fronts: the long media absence of the band, and the core concept of IRIS as a project which is "far out" from the normal synthpop genre.
