( ;D --> Monolake is an open project dedicated to computer generated music, founded in 1995 by Robert Henke and Gerhard Behles. Monolake are impressed and influenced by minimal techno music and drum&bass and at the same discovered the sonic richness and sophistication of academic computer music.)
Atlas Titan
M_amazon
( ;D --> This is the first new material released since 2006's 'Polygon Cities' album Cities' and quite frankly, it's class. 'Atlas' is a truly epic opener, setting out on a 138bpm flex with techno-skippin' rhythm fluctuations inheriting a lot of swing from T++'s recent material and mind blowing bass dynamics coaxed into being by Robert Henke's next-level programming skills. The inclusion of an almost-organic sounding woodwind instrument is a clever ploy, as in all reality it's most likely been programmed from pure data, but lends a human element. 'Titan' should satisfy your unnatural cravings with a purist composition of darkside steppers techno, running at 138bpm and morphed between immense occlusions of darkside atmospherics. It's the sound you all know and love, but updated in the true Monolake sense for 2009. Essential!)

Sven Weisemann

( ;D --> Sven Weisemann is a somewhat strange figure in Berlin's electronic music scene. When he's not making elegantly smooth deep house tracks for labels like Mojuba, Liebe*Detail and House Cafe Music, he's busy composing modern classical pieces for piano and cello. Those more familiar with Weisemann's own productions may be surprised by his DJing style, as he weaves effortlessly between his trademark deeper sound and classic house and techno dancefloor jack tracks.)

( ;D --> Undoubtedly, Namito belongs to the very designers of the Berlin techno scene. Since 1992, due to his distinctive sets, he is constantly booked by all major clubs in town, be it the legendary “E-Werk” or “Tresor”, where he raved the crowd as a resident for years. In 1996, Namito’s first releases caught the attraction of European clubs such as London's Turnmills and the Brancaleone in Rome. By meeting Martin Eyerer in 2004, Namito redefines his sound. As a result, he has releases on labels like Multicolor, Kling Klong and Great Stuff. Furthermore, he then remixes for acts such as Kosheen, Client and Gusgus.)

( ;D --> Eleven” has it all: the deepness of late night grooves combined with the audiophile finesse that makes Namito’s productions so tight and crisp. A very laidback attitude and a lot of knowledge and feeling combined with a lot of imagination equal a massive ride that never sounds worn out or prefabricated.)

While widespread recognition still eludes them, it has been to their advantage as they've operated as artists in the truest sense of the word, devoting their energy to providing the masses with an audiovisual extravaganza that adheres to no rules but their own. Atechno alchemist, Slater has always sought out the extreme often melding influences and styles into a furious and unique sound that has seen him acclaimed as one of the pioneers of British techno. Yet he has never been happy to remain static, preferring a constant quest of exploration and musical discovery. His many and varied releases have seen him mature from an acid house inspired amateur to respected elder statesman of the global electronic empire.)

Be it tough detroit techno, obscure electronica, ambient, or conceptual electro – Slater has definitely left his stamp on the last two decades as a DJ and a producer. After contributing a gorgeous ambient piece as The 7th Plain to our Ballet cd „Shut Up And Dance! Updated“, Luke now is returning to OstGut Ton under his legendary techno pseudonym as Planetary Assault Systems.
The „Temporary Suspension“ EP is a taster for his forthcoming, eponymously titled album on OstGut Ton. “Planetary has always been about going forward, music and mind states working together, pushing movements and alpha waves on the dancefloor“ says Slater.)

The Mole
www.myspace.com/eslamolita
( ;D --> Born in Canada, the Mole (Colin de la Plante) spent time in both British Columbia and Quebec, which might explain something about the origins of his sound. From the west coast, he gets the jazzy, soulful exuberance of Cobblestone Jazz's Mathew Jonson and the B.C.-based Wagon Repair label; from the east, the polished restraint associated with Montreal's MUTEK festival. (De la Plante has collaborated extensively with both crews.) While the Mole's 2005 EP One Foot on Either Side of the Ladder is split between punchy minimal techno and a disco vibe, on subsequent releases -- the EPs Conversations With My Past, In My Song and Baby, You're the One and the 2008 album As High As the Sky, all for Wagon Repair -- his sound just gets deeper and deeper. Relying heavily on looped disco samples, the Mole follows in the footsteps of Theo Parrish and Moodymann, but his proximity to the techno scene in Berlin, where he lives, lends his music a crisper sound.)
