Sometimes harsh, sometimes remarkably gentle, Ikeda's music is concerned primarily with sound in a variety of "raw" states, such as sine tones and noise, often using frequencies at the edges of the range of human hearing.)

( ;D --> This might be a collection of Sieben mastermind Matt Howden's own favorites, but it's hardly your standard greatest hits collection. Less a historical archive than a living, breathing thing, it's a collection of tracks rearranged to fit Howden's live set-up: nothing but voice and violin, artfully played and looped into layers to create the illusion of a full band.)

With influences ranging from hip-hop to synth pop to the blurry atmospherics of early '90s shoegaze bands like Slowdive and Pale Saints, the two make songs that are too pop to be strictly categorized as IDM.)

Crowley's music is steeped in the popular folk tradition of the 1970s, calling to mind storytelling songwriters such as Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake with a strong, often central emphasis on lyrics. Increasingly, as his career has progressed, his music has become informed by electronic music; this influence that has been reinforced by his ongoing relationship with producer Stephen Shannon of Dublin "folktronica" act Halfset, while his reputation as a multi-instrumentalist has led him to employ a vast array of acoustic instruments and guitar pedals.)

( ;D --> Interesting tribute project covering a repertoire of excellent Coil songs. The project Manager Stéphane Grégoire got the inspiration from the Gothic Dream Pop project "This Mortal Coil", which started in the eighties by the English label 4AD. Its label manager had then grouped some of its own artists together in order to play some standards of rock and pop music. The difference is that “This Immortal Coil” has taken an almost reverse approach with classical artists who hardly knew Coil participating in the work. "The most extra-ordinary, beautiful, and moving, re-interpretations of Coil I have ever heard!" Peter Christopherson.)
