Efdemin

www.facebook.com/efdemin
( ;D --> Efdemin—Phillip Sollmann, originally from Kassel and based, for the past nine years, in Berlin—has come to savor these sorts of sights in the seven or eight years that he’s been traveling as a DJ. “It’s strange,” he says. “Sometimes you travel for one day, and you end up being in the other side of the world, in Berlin or L.A. or something, and it looks exactly the same. And sometimes it’s sad, I think.” A former student of electroacoustic music in Vienna, he released his first EP on Hamburg’s Dial label, his longtime home base, in 2004, and has spent the past decade winding his way through the house/techno double helix, both as a producer and a DJ. He brings a similar aesthetic to both crafts, carving long, rippling shapes with a dull gleam. There aren’t many DJs whose sets sound more like their own records, and vice versa—no matter whose records he’s playing. In recent years, his own output has slowed; to hear him tell it, studio time has become a victim to his traveling schedule. But he reversed
the trend last fall, when he and his partner, the artist Hanna Schwarz, received a grant to spend three months in Japan working on a collaborative film project. While in Kyoto, Sollmann dug into a hard drive full of sketches and jams he had made back in his studio in Berlin and came up with Decay, his third album.)

Fujiya & Miyagi
www.fujiya-miyagi.co.uk
( ;D --> They are self-described as being heavily influenced by Krautrock bands, Can and Neu! as well as the early 1990s electronic music artist, Aphex Twin. The origins of the band's name come from a character in the film, The Karate Kid as well as the brand of a record player. The lines "We're not a couple of shadowboxers/Oh/Oh/Just two Anglo-Saxons" from the 2008 track Butterfingers and "We were just pretending to be Japanese" from Photocopier may be comments on the band name and how it is perceived.)

Machinista
soundcloud.com/machinista
( ;D --> John Lindqwister (Cat Rapes Dog, Basswood Dollies etc.) - Vocals, Lyrics | Richard Flow (Vision Talk, Haze For Sale etc.). In december 2012 John and Richard decided to try out a new fresh project beside their other bands. The first result was a cover of David Bowie´s "Heroes", and the band also did a low-fi video for the song. The feedback was awesome from start and the band decided to move along with own written songs. The song "Molecules and carbon" followed the same procedure with a low-fi video and also a soundcloud account to let more people access to the music. Once again the feedback was really good and the band started to have followers on facebook/Soundcloud etc. Also magazines like Sideline, Peek-a-Boo, Elektroskull etc. started to encourage the band.
Xenoglossy
music.juggernautservices.com/album/xenoglossy
( ;D -->  Xenoglossy - The art of speaking or writing in a language unknown to the Orator. Somewhat appropriate for a band already ripping apart Synthpop boundaries, Machinista sprint across the finish line with "Xenoglossy", before "Arizona Lights" even approaches the final hurdle.  Anticipated hotly since the EP debuted in March, "Xenoglossy" acts on the back of one of the biggest selling records we've ever worked with.  To somewhat counter-balance the tracklisting of the EP, "Xenoglossy" comes with 11 original tracks (closing with a popular cover of David Bowie's "Heroes", and NO remixes - we already have some in the works for a later release.)

Drawing inspiration from the likes of fellow innovators including Harry Partch, Sun Ra, and Captain Beefheart, the Residents channelled the breadth of American music into their idiosyncratic, satiric vision, their mercurial blend of electronics, distortion, avant-jazz, classical symphonies and gratingly nasal vocals reinterpreting everyone from John Philip Sousa to James Brown while simultaneously expanding the boundaries of theatrical performance and multimedia interaction.)
