( ;D --> Kode9 (born Steve Goodman in Glasgow, Scotland) is a London-based electronic music artist, DJ, and owner of the Hyperdub record label. An MC, The Spaceape, is a frequent collaborator. Initially inspired by what he calls the "hardcore continuum", he also draws on dub reggae, and was one of the founding members of the early dubstep scene (which he views as a continuation of developments originally stemming from UK Hardcore). He appeared on the Grime compilation on Rephlex, and released the full-length album Memories of the Future (featuring the Spaceape) on his own label Hyperdub. Kode9 has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Warwick and has published a book, Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect, and the Ecology of Fear.)

It all started in the nineties with four landmark albums as Planetary Assault Systems. They came on the influential Peacefrog label and announced Slater as a master of dynamic, futurist techno. ( ;D --> Nodding God were formed 666 years ago by Andrew Liles, David Tibet and The Under Age Shaitan-Boy. I’m not 100% sure what I’ve just written but go with it. Their psychedelic electronic sound (and visuals) are a trip. They’re gonna be playing their first album Wooden Child in full at this their very first live show. To make things even more interesting, 93% of it is sung in Akkadian, that’s an extinct language from Mesopotamia. You’re gonna have to rely on the universal language of music to understand it, unless like David you’ve spent years studying it. Incredible.)
