Minimal and magical, he has that syrupy drone, she has that lilting whisper. As one, it's a seeping combination, a thumping transfusion. Though geographically separate, together their sound is lo-fi new wave from an alternate universe. This is a pair, heavily influenced by the 80s, whose parts bring each cohesive element to the table at different times; two parts of one, they are a careful gestalt that synthesizes.)

Flavor of the Week 2

The KLF
http://klf.de/home/
( ;D --> The KLF(also known as the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, the JAMs, the Timelords and other names) are a British electronic band formed in London in 1987. Bill Drummond (alias King Boy D) and Jimmy Cauty (alias Rockman Rock) began by releasing hip hop-inspired and sample-heavy records as the JAMs. As the Timelords, they recorded the British number-one single "Doctorin' the Tardis" and documented the process of making a hit record in a book, The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way). As the KLF, Drummond and Cauty pioneered stadium house (rave music with a pop-rock production and sampled crowd noise) and ambient house. The KLF released a series of international hits on their own KLF Communications record label and became the biggest-selling singles act in the world in 1991. From the outset, the KLF adopted the philosophy espoused by esoteric novels The Illuminatus! Trilogy, making anarchic situationist manifestations, including the defacement of billboard adverts, the posting of cryptic advertisements in NME magazine and the mainstream press, and unusual performances on Top of the Pops. In collaboration with Extreme Noise Terror at the BRIT Awards in February 1992, they fired machine gun blanks into the audience and dumped a dead sheep at the aftershow party. This performance pre-announced The KLF's departure from the music business and, in May of that year, they deleted their entire back-catalogue. With the KLF's profits, Drummond and Cauty established the K Foundation and sought to subvert the art world, staging an alternative art award for the Worst Artist of The Year and burning one million pounds sterling.)

Koan
https://soundcloud.com/koanofficial
( ;D --> Producing sophisticated psychedelic Chill Out music is a discipline within the electronic music scene that is similar to playing Jazz in a certain respect: It needs maturity and extensive musical experience to go beyond the scope of standards, to become really good and extraordinary. This might have to do with the fact that this kind of music is not aiming a busy dance floor, rising its hands and shouting out loud during the breaks. Instead of that, it is made for the individual mind and therefore includes a less functional but pretty intellectual, mature and also very artistic moment. Seen in front of this background, the history of Koan gives some interesting hints about the astonishing musical quality of this Russian duo.)

Kraftwerk
www.kraftwerk.com/
( ;D --> Kraftwerk [ˈkʀaftvɛɐk] is a German electronic music band formed by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider in 1970 in Düsseldorf, and fronted by them until Schneider's departure in 2008. The signature Kraftwerk sound combines driving, repetitive rhythms with catchy melodies, mainly following a Western classical style of harmony, with a minimalistic and strictly electronic instrumentation. The group's simplified lyrics are at times sung through a vocoder or generated by computer-speech software. Kraftwerk was one of the first groups to popularize electronic music and are considered to be pioneers.)

Sierra
https://soundcloud.com/je_suis_sierra
www.facebook.com/jesuissierra
( ;D --> Sierra has no desire to hide as she wanders through the valley in the shadow of the strange. Sierra’s self imposed exile has taken her through the winter desert, formerly Paris, on a quest. It has been far from straight forward: Land pirates, cannibals, the occult, and former virtual reality junkies desperate for their next hit, all lurk in even the furthest reaches of this vast waste land. Sierra, no matter how arduous this task, the force is too great to resist. To be master is something she cannot walk away from. Our post-apocalyptic world has ravaged life as we remember it, and only a few have the power to lead us to either the light or the dark. Which side is Sierra on? In a land set in a steampunk western, her intentions could go either way.)
