( ;D --> As anyone who has submitted themselves to Shackleton's ritualistic live shows will attest, this producer operates in a very special dancefloor dimension. Those shows have become the stuff of legend, reworking the most potent elements of his records into a stunningly febrile, in-the-moment context designed to elicit absolutely primal urges. In our opinion, his live show is one of the best in the world right now, and has been for a few years, so this mix is essentially one of the deadliest documents of post-everything club music money can buy.)

In the sequence, the immense high-density housing project of the same name in St. Louis, is shown completely deserted and extensively vandalised before being demolished. With the track names, this release is clearly an allegory for the project, if not paying tribute directly to the film, and Raster-Noton mainstay Kangding Ray incorporates the label's signature digital sharpness, and masterfully reflects the estate itself and the film's bleak prophesies of social demise, to chilling effect.)

Salem
www.myspace.com/s4lem
( ;D --> Salem’s sound, nearly impossible to describe using mere words, derives from the early 90′s “Chopped and Screwed” remix techniques of DJ Screw/Swishahouse hip-hop — demonic, slowed-down vocals and tempos combined with Chicago juke/footwork and dubstep/grime derived beats layered on top of a darkwave/juke-triphop wall of sound that incorporates elements of noise, drone, industrial and dream-pop. With this demented fusion, Salem pioneered a sound that recontextualized their forebearers straight into a nihilistic k-hole.)

David Lynch
http://davidlynch.com
( ;D --> David Lynch is best known for making films that bring our darkest thoughts to life in ways creepier than we could ever imagine. But the 64-year-old art-house staple isn't just a director-- he's a painter, a meditation advocate, an amateur meteorologist, and a musician, too. Along with writing lyrics for longtime composing partner Angelo Badalamenti, Lynch helped with some of the otherworldly atmospherics for several of his films and even wrote (and sang) on two songs for his last feature, 2006's Inland Empire. Last year, Lynch collaborated with Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse's Mark Linkous on the Dark Night of the Soul project. Nowadays, the musical muse is hitting Lynch particularly hard. He just released a double A-side single featuring an uncharacteristic electronic track called "Good Day Today" along with a (more characteristic) twisted blues track, "I Know".)

Besides Chris, the original lineup included Jens Gärtner, who provided the drum and loops. In 1997, Manuel Selling was added to the lineup to provide the guitars. In 2000, Manuel left the band and Gordon Mocznay took over on guitar and bass guitar. A year later in 2001, Louis Manke joined the band as well, adding a second guitar to the band. Terminal Choice is currently Chris Pohl's main project, and have had success in Germany. The success of Terminal Choice has also transferred to the other members of Terminal Choice, as Chris helped Gordon form his own band, Mordorn, and also helped Louis form a band named Staubkind. Despite being involved with numerous bands, all members are still creating music with Terminal Choice.)

Triangulation
S_amazon
( ;D --> Following the first Scuba album, A Mutual Antipathy (2008), and the more recent Aesaunic EP (2009), this album takes the Scuba sound to a new level. The collision of dubstep and techno has produced startling music from a wide range of producers in the last few years, none more than Scuba, and that has been well documented. But Triangulation moves past the dubstep/techno axis and into new territory. Working at multiple tempos, the album covers an area ranging from house to experimental drum n bass while retaining the Scuba sound that has become so distinctive. You Got Me and So You Think You re Special, released as an advance 12 , reflect the range of the album with the huge bass and frenetic energy of the former contrasting with the melancholic atmospheres and melodies of the latter. The listless beauty of Before, the aggressively percussive Minerals and the hyperactive electro of On Deck provide further stylistic variation, but this is not simply a collection of tracks for the best sonic results this album should be listened to in full.)

The discovery of the samplers and the synthesizers suddenly opened new possibilities where the acoustic world could be conserved; it was now possible with sound and noise on synthesizers to create what the human ear has never before experienced. The reason for the sonic passion was delivered to him via the techno parties late 90’s in his home area of Gera which was soon a weekly anchor for electronic experimentation.)

( ;D --> Pouppée Fabrikk is a Swedish EBM band, started in 1988 by Henrik Björkk and Leif Holm, who both hail from Karlskoga. Initially, the music of Pouppée Fabrikk (PF) borrowed heavily from minimalistic electronic acts such as Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft and Nitzer Ebb, but with the addition of Jouni Olilla and Jonas Aneheim on guitar PF moved towards a more Die Krupps-style electronic/metal mix. The "Your Pain - Our Gain" CD was meant to be released in 1996, but due to differences in opinion between the band and the record company (Energy Rekords) it was delayed until 1999. In 1996 the band decided to take a break and PF was put on hold and the band members worked on various solo projects. In 2000 the band re-united for a gig at the Tinitus Electronic Festival and announced that they were making a comeback and returning to their roots. They released a four track mini CD entitled "Elite Electronics". A year later though, both Jouni and Henrik left the band to concentrate on their respective solo careers. PF disbanded shortly afterwards. After seven years of absence from the scene the band reunits in 2009, Christian R filling the place of former member Jouni Ollila. In October 2010, they once again re-united for a gig; this time at Bodyfest on Fryshuset.)
