( ;D --> Darkstar began life as a production duo, James Young and Aiden Whalley, releasing 12" inches on their own label 2010 Records. The pair then released singles such as "Need U" and "Aidy's Girl is a Computer" on the groundbreaking Hyperdub imprint. In late 2009 Darkstar began recording with songwriter and vocalist James Buttery who featured on the first LP "North." Conrad Schnitzler
conrad-schnitzler.de/
( ;D --> Conrad Schnitzler (1937–2011), composer and concept artist, is one of the most important representatives of Germany's electronic music avant-garde. A student of Joseph Beuys, he founded Berlin's legendary Zodiak Free Arts Lab, a subculture club, in 1967/68, was a member of Tangerine Dream (together with Klaus Schulze and Edgar Froese) and Kluster (with Dieter Moebius and Hans-Joachim Roedelius) and also released countless solo albums. There was a particular type of artist who could only have emerged in the legendary early 1970s. Few musicians fit the bill better than Konrad Schnitzler (later Conrad). Revolution, pop art and Fluxus created a climate which engendered unbridled artistic and social development. Radical utopias, excessive experimentation with drugs, ruthless (in a positive way) transgression of aesthetic frontiers were characteristic of the period. The magic words were "subculture", "progressivity" and "avant-gardism". West Berlin, with its unique political status, was a crucible of turbulence. Founded in 1968, the Zodiak Free Arts Lab was the ultimate point of convergence for subculture in West Berlin, with Konrad Schnitzler the driving force behind it. It was also here that Tangerine Dream and Kluster first met up to perform in public.)
Pyrolator "Con-Struct" Vol. 3

soundcloud.com/bureau-1/conrad-schnitzler-pyrolator
( ;D --> The German pioneer of electronic music Conrad Schnitzler (1937–2011) amassed a vast archive of sounds for use in combination with each other in live performances. In 2011 the idea came up of con-structing new compositions, not remixes, from this material. The Con-Struct series was born (Vol. 1: Borngräber & Strüver, Vol 2: Andreas Reihse). Volume 3 features con-structions by Pyrolator, co-founder of the legendary German label Ata Tak, solo artist and member of various seminal post-punk bands such as D.A.F. and Der Plan. "My prime objective was to present a side of Conrad which I had always heard in his music but one which often goes unnoticed: a darker, technoid side. Conrad has always been one of the great pioneers of classic Berlin techno music", says Pyrolator. Convince yourself! Out July 17, 2015, on CD / LP (incl. CD).)

( ;D --> The story of Kite started when Christian Berg (Yvonne, Strip Music) asked Nicklas Stenemo (The Mo, Melody Club) to sing on one of Christian’s instrumental songs. The day after the demo version of ”My girl and I” was finished. They started to make songs at a daily basis in Nicklas’ studio where Christian’s love for monotone synth melted together with Nicklas’ pophits. One day Nicklas sold his Fender guitar and the band Kite was born.)

Koan
soundcloud.com/koantunes
www.facebook.com/koantunes
( ;D --> Producing sophisticated psychedelic Chill Out music is a discipline within the electronic music scene that is similar to playing Jazz in a certain respect: It needs maturity and extensive musical experience to go beyond the scope of standards, to become really good and extraordinary. This might have to do with the fact that this kind of music is not aiming a busy dance floor, rising its hands and shouting out loud during the breaks.  Instead of that, it is made for the individual mind and therefore includes a less functional but pretty intellectual, mature and also very artistic moment. Seen in front of this background, the history of Koan gives some interesting hints about the astonishing musical quality of this Russian duo.)

( ;D --> Mushy is the solo project of Valentina Fanigliulo, a sound-experimentalist rising from the dusty ruins of Rome, the eternal city. Since 2003, Mushy’s style combines and synthesizes electronica, shoegaze, blues and new-wave, with a psychedelic/kraut soul. Her soundscape-like compositions reveal a spellbinding universe that emerges from the mixture of analog drum-machines, burgeoning cold drones, tempestuous noises and spectral chants. Mushy has been deeply inspired by the works of Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Slowdive, Lush, Minimal Compact, New Order, Swans, Nico, and legendary singers Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. Mushy’s debut album, ‘Faded Heart’,  has been released by Italian underground label Mannequin Records on Feb 2011. It’s an album recorded essentially at home and its lo-fi charms derives from the amalgamation of obsessive drum-machine loops, synths and an effect-processed old and battered acoustic guitar, found in a flea market with only 4 strings. Mushy considers ‘Faded Heart’ as her personal take on blues. The album was picked as Rough Trade’s Album Of The Week, in March 2011 and was described as the most convincing European answer to contemporaneous releases by American artists such as Zola Jesus and Tamaryn.)

Old school dark elektro 'made in 2005' at its best and setting the first steps of Acylum's ascending power sound. Achim.Bloch

( ;D -->  Hailing from France Achim.Bloch is one of those rare beasts who is influenced by many styles of music and manages to absorb their strong points into his music and somehow makes it all fit and make sense. Often cinematic in effect his work has a cerebral dimension to it; painting pictures with sound. That's not to say this is ambient work, far from it - these elements are all combined beautifully whilst laid over rhythms that help your body keep pace with your mind's experience.)

( ;D --> Nine Inch Nails (abbreviated as NIN, sometimes stylized as NIИ) is an American industrial rock project, founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio. As its main producer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Reznor is the only official member of Nine Inch Nails and remains solely responsible for its direction. Nine Inch Nails' music straddles a wide range of genres. After recording a new album, Reznor usually assembles a live band to perform with him. The touring band features a revolving lineup that often rearranges songs to fit a live setting. On stage, Nine Inch Nails often employs visual elements to accompany performances, which frequently include light shows.)

Gedankenrasen

( ;D --> Incomparable musical diversity manifests itself in the spectrum between pounding, distorted beats and orchestral meekness, electronic hardness and melancholy subtlety, which alternate and complement each other. The extensive use of symphonic elements underscores the musical needs behind the album, which does not have to hide in terms of dance- and celebrationpotential. Thematically the mostly German texts are dealing with the scene typical ambivalences of sorrow, hope, love and death, fear and loneliness. The same kind of versatility proves the versatile voice, which gives the cynical striking, sometimes poetic expression introverted content, strength and depth.)

The 90s were all but over when the second Leftfield album appeared in Autumn 1999. ( ;D --> Drexciya was an electronic music duo from Detroit, Michigan. The late James Stinson was the only officially identified member of Drexciya, but it was considered an open secret that he had a partner, Gerald Donald. The majority of Drexciya's releases were in the style of dance-floor-oriented Electro, punctuated with elements of retro, 1980s Detroit Techno, with occasional excursions into the Ambient and Industrial genres. Tracks are mostly centered around the TR-808 drum machine, with bass, melodies, and synth textures ebbing and flowing in time. Anecdotes suggest that Stinson and Donald recorded tracks while playing the instruments live, making use of analogue equipment and sequencing methods. Drexciya combined a faceless, underground, anti-mainstream media stance with mythological, sci-fi narratives, to help heighten the dramatic effect of their music. In this aspect they were similar to artists within and close to the Detroit collective Underground Resistance.)
