( ;D --> Vitalic is the alter ego of Pascal Arbez, a French programmer/multi-instrumentalist who blends electro, techno, and house -- as well as elements of classical, rock, Italo-disco, and '70s electronic music -- into a sound that recalls the work of fellow countrymen Daft Punk and Air, but has its own hard-edged playfulness. Arbez played trombone as a child and young adult, but became fascinated with dance music when he heard Daft Punk in the mid-'90s. Inspired by them as well as Giorgio Moroder, Arbez switched to analog synths and began writing and recording as Dima.)

John Foxx
metamatic.com/
( ;D --> John Foxx (born Dennis Leigh, 26 September 1948) is an English singer, artist, photographer and teacher. He was the original lead singer of the band Ultravox, before leaving to embark on a solo career (with Midge Ure eventually taking his place in Ultravox). Primarily associated with electronic synthesizer music, he has also pursued a parallel career in graphic design and education. Andy Kellman of AllMusic noted that Foxx "was one of those cult figures known more through the recordings of others rather than those of his own making. His detached, jolting vocal style inspired mainstream and underground artists across the decades, from synth pop superstar Gary Numan to electro-techno duo Adult".)

( ;D --> Experimental synth quartet S U R V I V E ' s sophomore full-length and Relapse debut is a dark, sweeping exercise in analog synth mastery. The pulsating, 9-song instrumental release showcases immense diversity between tracks - 'RR7349's compositions range from grim tom-tom thunder to space-age epics, pairing tense plodding grooves with meditative ambience and driving, rhythmic beats. Inspired by IDM and horror scores alike, 'RR7349' is simultaneously ominous and hopeful; tense and relaxed; percussive and melodic. Additionally, two of the group’s members recently scored the soundtrack for the hit new sci-fi / horror show Stranger Things on Netflix.)

The band consists of Katie Stelmanis (vocals), her former Galaxy bandmate Maya Postepski (drums) and former Spiral Beach bassist Dorian Wolf. They played a number of early shows under the name Private Life before learning that another band was already using the name; they subsequently named the band after Stelmanis' middle name Austra, which is also the name of the goddess of light in Latvian mythology. Monolake / Robert Henke
www.monolake.de
( ;D --> Monolake is an electronic music act based in Berlin. Originally consisting of members Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke, Monolake is now perpetuated by Henke while Behles focuses on running music software company Ableton. In fall 2004, Torsten Pröfrock became a member of Monolake. Monolake's minimal, dub-influenced techno music helped establish the sound of the Chain Reaction label, also located in Berlin, subsequently using their own [ml/i] (Monolake / Imbalance Computer Music) label for the group's output. Both current members have solo projects, with Henke releasing under his own name and Pröfrock as T++ and Various Artists. In 2008 T++ followed Ricardo Villalobos in bridging the gap between minimal techno and dubstep, by remixing Shackleton's Death Is Not Final for the Skull Disco label. In 2009, Robert Henke appeared in the electronic music documentary Speaking In Code which presented the completion of the Monodeck. Monolake is named after Mono Lake, which is east of the Sierra Nevada in California.)
VLSI

bleep.com/release/76356-monolake-vlsi
( ;D --> Interesting new album from Robert Henke, one of the leading innovators of dub techno and co-founder of Ableton! In VLSI, Henke channels African rhythms, dubstep, IDM and techno through an impressive range of modular and analogue electronic equipment, a list made quite surprising considering the stark minimalist elements at play. Henke describes the dystopian feel of the album as a very deliberate move, an attempt of his to distil the socioeconomic and political topics that high tech electronics companies often use as motivation and directly link them to the very machines that they manufacture.)

( ;D --> Japan Suicide was formed in 2007, taking inspiration from the British post-punk echoes of the 1970s. Japan Suicide's debut album "Mothra" was released in 2010. Following several live performances, the band changed members. They auto-produced an ep and the video clip of the single "Nothing", directed by Francesco Brunotti. The band currently includes five members. In 2015 the band will release its second album "We Die In Such a Place", which is a stylistic combination of the dark atmospheres, so beloved by the band, with more aggressive sounds.)

Gimme Shelter

( ;D --> Gimme Shelter is a band from Leipzig by Robert Grolms (vocals, songwriting) and Niko Kötzsch (music, production). Several concerts, including the legendary Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 2010 and as the opening act of the Swedish Synthipopband Elegant Machinery, the band could been denied. In addition, we know the two heads of the band also from various other musical projects. So Niko Kötzsch hired as well as in industrial band 1979. He also created many already remixes (e.g. for Haujobb, Seabound, Minerve, Halo Effect). Robert Grolms is also singer and pianist at Acoustic Mode, a Depeche Mode coverband. He also lends his voice to the rock project Suspicious Ones. The current production was, inter alia, in Leipzig, Munich, Frankfurt/Main and Weilheim in Oberbayern added. The band was supported here by none other than Daniel Myer (Architect, Haujobb, formerly collaborated on Covenant, already intensively with Alan Wilder) .)

Carl Finlow / Random Factor / Silicon Scally
www.carlfinlow.co.uk/
( ;D --> Carl has been writing and recording music since 1986 but his first real record involvement was co writing and producing Moments of Inertia by Circle City on Warp in 1993. After a year or so working with Leeds indie band The Bridewells and culminating in an album with them recorded in Roxy Music's studio, he settled down into writing and producing dance music. In 1994 he and DJ Ralph Lawson set up 2020 Vision Records, producing deep house flavours of their own as Wolf and Flow and under his own solo guise of Random Factor, remixing artists from around the globe including Blaze, Josh Wink, Superman Lovers and Fatboy Slim. His solo work is heavily electro tinted, reflective of the Kraftwerk era but owing as much to the likes of Drexciya, Prince, Depeche Mode and Yello. During the mid 90s he teamed up with SCSI founder Daz Quayle and wrote under the name Scarletron and also as Black Labs with two releases on Thomas Heckmann's Trope Recordings around 1995. Working under the names of Random Factor (2020 Vision) Voice Stealer (Subvert) and more recently Silicon Scally (SCSI, Satamile) he has released music on labels including Warp, Fuel, Playhouse, Paper, Trope, Sony, Klang, Arista, Soma, Pagan and Minifunk. He is also a keen remixer in his own right, having reworked tracks by 2 Lone Swordsman, Luke Slater, Swayzak, Dave Tipper and Alexi Delano. 2002 saw the release of the critically acclaimed Mr. Machine album on SCSI recordings. In 2003 the combined EP's on Device Entertainment Recordings were released as the album Electrilogy+ under his real name, Carl A Finlow. Shortly after this release, he moved to Paris.)
