( ;D --> Kowalski elegantly fuses elements from classic Detroit and historical Berlin techno sound. His affection for sophisticated bass lines, deep beats and challenging arrangements breathes new life into Techno. He knows perfectly how to program his tracks to sound straight, deep, housy, dubby or funky.)

Conforce

( ;D --> Conforce is the moniker of Boris Bunnik from The Island of Terschelling. Nowadays he lives in the city of Leeuwarden. He developed his passion for electronic music around the age of 10. His father owned a large collection of usual and unusual instruments like the bagpipe, accordion, guitar, piano and harmonica's. Somehow this must have contained him with some musical interest. Michael Jackson also got airplay in his living room. But it was in a summer that his father who is also working as a forester was on a patrol in the eastern part of the island. He found a black colored tape who someone must have lost during a walk. When he took it home, he gave it to his son with the words “perhaps you could do something with it”. Not much later he bought his first taperecorder. The next thing he did was to put the tape in and take a listen. Soon there were all kinds of weird and freaky noises coming out. It attacked him. “What was this kind of sh*t?” he wondered. After that listen he did put it away in the closet - only for a very short while. He realised that this must have been the first serious house music he had been listening to. On the tape was Detroit orientated techno from producers like Orlando Voorn, Speedy J, Joey Beltram and Carl Craig who worked with the characteristic hardware equipment.)

( ;D --> It's hard to believe that Grace is Conforce's debut release for Delsin. Like that label's output, Boris Bunnik's work typifies an open-ended approach to music-making, which integrates techniques from the first wave of Dutch techno producers mixed with other influences.)

SAM

( ;D --> Founded by the highly explosive duo Joel Meyer and Daniel Meyer, the industrial project SAM has so far released two highly successful albums in 2006 and 2008 and have also established a reputation as an excellent live act.)

Portico Quartet

( ;D --> The Portico Quartet are a bunch of guys in their early twenties who play instrumental music. Formed four years ago from two sets of schoolfriends, they share a house in East London, make recordings, and play festivals and clubs. Yet what distinguishes them from dozens of other Hackney hopefuls is the way they sound - a fresh, unclichéd resynthesis and reinvention of music that's both pleasingly familiar and thrillingly new, like World Music from the future. With largely acoustic resources - percussion, bass and wind instruments - they have conjured and refined a group signature that's immediately recognisable. Thanks to the use of the hang, a tuned percussion instrument bought on impulse at a music festival, they have a sound that is instantly attractive, yet uncompromisingly individual, and it's this, combined with the cheerful eloquence of their performances, that has brought Portico Quartet a long way in a short time.)

( ;D --> In 1985, Phillip Boa (born Ernst Ulrich Figgen) founded the Independent band Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub. With their album Hair and the single Container Love, they experienced a commercial breakthrough and international recognition in 1989. Boa's music is influenced by British punk rock and New Wave, its style swings between pop and avantgarde. A continuous charasteric are the catchy and melodic choruses, interrupted or alienated by atmospheric shifts. Thereby the voice of band member Pia Lund and Boa's own throaty singing contrast diametrically.
