Michael Mayer

( ;D --> As a DJ, producer and remixer, Michael Mayer remains one of Germany's core celebrities in dance music. It's no secret that he spends his weekends traveling around the globe. It's likely throughout his career he's played in front of millions. Then, as a co-owner of Kompakt, he spends his weekdays deciding what will be released on the label and working with the label's artists and overseeing Kompakt's distribution wing - the home of over 50 record labels. Amazingly enough, he manages to sneak into the studio on occasion to produce his own music and remix the likes of Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Foals and Rufus Wainwright. And of course there is Supermayer but more on that later. It's safe to say he loves being challenged and regardless of the pressure is never putting less than 100% of his heart and soul into everything he does.)

( ;D --> The duo was officially formed in 1993 by Erik Garcia a.k.a. Erk Aicrag (lyrics and vocals) and Oscar Mayorga a.k.a. Racso Agroyam (Programming), but both cousins had been experimenting with electronic music, mixing industrial and EBM, since they were fifteen years old. Their music can be described as electro-industrial. Erk Aircrag and Racso Agroyam incited to express their feelings through technology. Given the influence of varying currents of electronic music (mainly Skinny Puppy) they began their trajectory in 1989 in a project called "Niñera Degenerada". Their lyrics are both in Spanish as well as English. The Spanish word hocico means snout, and is used in Mexico as a disrespectful way to describe someone's comments coming out of their mouth.)

( ;D --> The Mexican pioneers of harder electronic music culture return with an impressive, new single. No matter whether you do believe the pessimistic interpretations of the Mayan calendar as to an impending end of the world or not… it is doubtless that few other bands could deliver a more fitting soundtrack for our apocalyptic, crisis-infused times than Hocico. With their new single “Vile Whispers”, Erk Aicrag and Racso Agroyam go back to their very roots: dirty beats, straight thudding sequencers, ultra-aggressive shouts and intriguing sonic experiments merge to become an electronic outcry of rage that blasts away anything that stands in its way. The Mexicans reduce their sound to its core essence to maximize the impact of their dance floor compatible outburst. Erk makes the track explode like an wrathful demigod while Racso plays with sounds that create a club-assault from psychotic horror visions, captivating melodies and a healthy amount of sub-bass-oomph! The exclusive B-side “It Doesn’t Exist” also doesn’t fall short in regard to club compatibility and showcases a more playful side of Hocico that marries brutal sonic violence with minimalist melodies. Erk and Racso also infuse the title track with the trademark sounds of their respective solo projects in two searing remixes, one sporting the Electroclash-approach of Rabia Sorda and the other the hard Industrial of Dulce Liquido. The most important voice of Harsh Electro has created another milestone that other will have to be measured against. The band’s “Vile Whispers” are anything but soft – the inferno commences and Hocico are setting it off! The perfect appetizer for the soon to be released new album! Limited & hand numbered to 1000 copies! Tracks: 1. Vile Whispers (original mix) 2. It Doesn’t Exist 3. Vile Whispers (Dulce Liquido remix) 4. Vile Whispers (Rabia Sorda remix).)

( ;D --> Recoil is the project of Alan Wilder, formerly of Depeche Mode. Alan is a classically-trained musician and renowned contemporary music producer. Recoil was born in 1986 as a two-track experimental EP.An album, 'Hydrology', soon followed in 1988 and both were eventually re-issued by Mute Records on CD as 'Hydrology plus 1+2'.These early Recoil recordings revealed Wilder’s position as a pioneer in the newly emerging world of sampling technology.)
