Maelstrom
https://maelstromraar.bandcamp.com
https://www.instagram.com/le_maelstrom/
( ;D --> Maelstrom, the French electro maestro, has returned to Central Processing Unit with his fourth album, The FM Tapes. This 11-track masterpiece is a testament to his skill as a producer and his love for the genre. From the opening track, Ondes Courtes, Maelstrom establishes a dark and brooding atmosphere. The track's intricate synth work and tight, shuffling beats immediately grab your attention. Tracks like Alt50ser and La Vie Sociale Des Sons continue to push forward with their frenetic energy and complex soundscapes. However, what sets The FM Tapes apart is its emotional depth.)

( ;D --> Kode9 (born Steve Goodman in Glasgow, Scotland) is a London-based electronic music artist, DJ, and owner of the Hyperdub record label. An MC, The Spaceape, is a frequent collaborator. Initially inspired by what he calls the "hardcore continuum", he also draws on dub reggae, and was one of the founding members of the early dubstep scene (which he views as a continuation of developments originally stemming from UK Hardcore). He appeared on the Grime compilation on Rephlex, and released the full-length album Memories of the Future (featuring the Spaceape) on his own label Hyperdub. Kode9 has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Warwick and has published a book, Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect, and the Ecology of Fear.)

Kite

( ;D --> The story of Kite started when Christian Berg (Yvonne, Strip Music) asked Nicklas Stenemo (The Mo, Melody Club) to sing on one of Christian’s instrumental songs. The day after the demo version of ”My girl and I” was finished. They started to make songs at a daily basis in Nicklas’ studio where Christian’s love for monotone synth melted together with Nicklas’ pophits. One day Nicklas sold his Fender guitar and the band Kite was born.)

She modelled for such fashion greats as Karl Lagerfeld and Philip Treacy, produced and appeared in Oscar nominated art films, designed her own lines of jewelry, make-up and perfume, and enjoyed long creative associations with editor Isabella Blow, designer Alexander McQueen and photographers David LaChapelle and Nick Knight. But really, her greatest work of art has been herself. With her extraordinary two-tone beehive hairdo, vertiginous platform shoes, exotically layered costumes and phantasmagoric jewelry, Daphne Guinness became renowned as one of the most strikingly dressed women on the planet.)

Red Cell

( ;D --> Red Cell - unabashedly a synth-pop band who channel the genre’s pioneers. Their music, as such, isn’t the electronic-oriented, dance-infused stuff currently being heard on the radio. It isn’t even the warm new wave of New Order. Instead, Red Cell are replicating the early musicians who took analogue synthesizers and manipulated sound, and following the works of artists who integrated elements of other genres like progressive rock and industrial.)

The combination of urban electronic music’s gritty drive with Julia’s French-German vocals reminds some critics of a more forceful version of Deux or Kirlian Camera: yet at the same time it creates something entirely original.)

Haujobb was formed in 1993 by Daniel Myer, Dejan Samardzic, and Björn Junemann, pulling the name from the Blade Runner translation of "skin job". Given the influence of varying currents of electronic music (mainly Skinny Puppy) they began their trajectory in 1989 in a project called "Niñera Degenerada". ( ;D --> Although his music is often consigned to the new age bins of record stores and the bulk of his work has been released on labels more closely associated with that classification, Robert Rich's solo and collaborative recordings have proven extremely influential on a range of new-school ambient and experimental artists. His association with older space music pioneers such as Steve Roach, Kevin Braheny, and Michael Stearns also makes him one of the few of that generation to have interfaced creatively with the new wave of experimental electronic composers. A California native, Rich began experimenting with electronics in the late '70s before attending Stanford University, where he completed a degree in psychology. While at Stanford, Rich's involvement in the university's prestigious Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics expanded his interest in electronic composition, as well as bringing him in contact with a wide range of nontraditional, non-Western musical ideas. Rich's performance of several all-night "sleep concerts" during this period also helped solidify an aesthetic focus on psychoacoustics, perceptible in early recordings such as Geometry and Trances/Drones.)

Drexciya

www.globaldarkness.com/articles/drexciya.htm
( ;D --> Drexciya was an electronic music duo from Detroit, Michigan. The late James Stinson was the only officially identified member of Drexciya, but it was considered an open secret that he had a partner, Gerald Donald. The majority of Drexciya's releases were in the style of dance-floor-oriented Electro, punctuated with elements of retro, 1980s Detroit Techno, with occasional excursions into the Ambient and Industrial genres. Tracks are mostly centered around the TR-808 drum machine, with bass, melodies, and synth textures ebbing and flowing in time. Anecdotes suggest that Stinson and Donald recorded tracks while playing the instruments live, making use of analogue equipment and sequencing methods. Drexciya combined a faceless, underground, anti-mainstream media stance with mythological, sci-fi narratives, to help heighten the dramatic effect of their music. In this aspect they were similar to artists within and close to the Detroit collective Underground Resistance.)

( ;D --> Implant, the project of LEN LEMEIRE, has been trying to contribute to the already massive inheritance of the Belgian electronic scene since 1992. 8 full length albums, 7 EP’s, uncountable remixes and several productions later, one can only agree that the music itself is the universal language. It was because of his music that Len teamed up with several of the early pioneers of electronic music. When ANNE CLARK heard Len’s remix for ‘Sleeper in Metropolis’, Implant became the electronic live band of ANNE CLARK for 5 years, resulting in guest contributions of Anne on 2 albums (‘Audio Blender’ and ‘Self Inflicted’). When Jean-Luc de Meyer (FRONT 242) heard an implant track, he decided not only to contribute vocals for 1 track, but a full blown new project was born under the flag of 32CRASH.)

Arbez played trombone as a child and young adult, but became fascinated with dance music when he heard Daft Punk in the mid-'90s.
