Flavor of the week #2

Nitzer Ebb

( ;D --> Before the majority of industrial acts added guitars and became the heavy metal of the 1990s, Nitzer Ebb produced hard-hitting electronic music with the Teutonic bent and abrasive edge of early industrial music, plus the vocal chanting and beat-heavy flavor of the late-'80s alternative and Balearic dance scene. Formed in Chelmsford, Essex, in 1982 by vocalist Douglas McCarthy, drummer Bon Harris, and keyboard player David Gooday, the group began experimenting with synthesizers and drum pads, fusing their affinity for dark goth and punk rock with the emerging technology.)

( ;D --> The "anarchy violinist" Emilie Autumn's devilishly dark lyrics, metal-shredding violin solos, and industrial-strength voice reinvent "gothic" for the masses, and goths have never had so much fun. Emilie Autumn is also obsessed with history and the Victorian era, and is a newly published writer with the book The Asylum for Wayward Victorian girls, a biographical horror book, mixed in with historical fiction.)

( ;D --> Jori Hulkkonen is a DJ and a producer of house music from the northern town of Kemi, Finland. Raised up around the arctic circle, below freezing point and under the influence of a coctail of synthpop and early electro, house and techno handily available from the Swedish radio, Jori quickly developed a taste, and more importantly, a passion for electronic music. With no musical education or any backround in playing any instruments Jori started to experiment with electronics in 1988 and soon became addicted to making music. Hulkkonen's most popular recording is the single Sunglasses at Night, a version of Corey Hart's 1980s hit, created together with Canadian producer Tiga. His most recent solo full-length Dualizm, released in 2005, featured collaborations with John Foxx, Nick Triani, Tiga, Jerry Valuri, and José González. Following up on the success of the Lo-Fiction single on Dualizm on which they collaborated, Jori began a synth-pop side project with Jerry Valuri called Processory, which released its self-titled debut in February 2007. Jori Hulkkonen has also released records under such aliases as Zyntherius, Eternal Boyman, Bobby Forrester and Jii Hoo. He has worked on remixes to Telepopmusik's second single Love Can Damage Your Health.)
