( ;D --> A mysterious print advertisement has surfaced announcing a new record from Aphex Twin. Record stores have posted photos of a flyer, which reportedly came in the mail and details a forthcoming Cheetah EP. The flyer's wording introduces the EP like it's a new instrument: “To assure you that your Cheetah EP will give you many years of enjoyment, please be sure to read the owner's manual carefully before attempting to operate the Cheetah EP.” The flyer features both Aphex Twin's and Warp Records' logos.)

Elektroklänge

( ;D --> Swedish minimalistic electro pop act Elektroklänge now on the Belgian electro label Alfa Matrix. While remaining true to the so-called ‘Düsseldorf sound’, Elektroklänge still adds it’s own identity to the mix occasionally using the piano to bring a more emotionally-charged version of Kraftwerk. The “Mechanische Tänze Nos. 1-4” EP is the band’s first release on the Belgian Alfa Matrix label who already brought us bands active in a similar electronic register like Metroland, Növö or yet the very early Front 242 material.)

Minimal and magical, he has that syrupy drone, she has that lilting whisper. As one, it's a seeping combination, a thumping transfusion. Though geographically separate, together their sound is lo-fi new wave from an alternate universe. This is a pair, heavily influenced by the 80s, whose parts bring each cohesive element to the table at different times; two parts of one, they are a careful gestalt that synthesizes.)
