Flavor of the Week #15

Sabled Sun
( ;D -- > Sabled Sun is a Futuristic Post Apocalyptic project by Simon Heath (Atrium Carceri) which revolves around our protagonist waking up from deep sleep hibernation to a world abandoned. The story of Sabled Sun takes us through barren wastes, abandoned cities, robotic factories, research laboratories in search for what happened to humanity.)

Front Line Assembly
( ;D --> Front Line Assembly was the best known of the various electronic music projects undertaken by the prolific Vancouver-based duo of Bill Leeb (vocals, synthesizers) and Rhys Fulber (synthesizers, samplers). After working in the mid-'80s under the pseudonym Wilhelm Schroeder with Skinny Puppy, the Austrian-born Leeb formed the industrial/techno-based Front Line Assembly in 1986 with Fulber.)

Locked Groove
( ;D --> After relaunching his own label in January, Locked Groove debuts with a four-track package, including two remixes by the elusive Prequel Tapes, on the Milan based imprint Just This. On the title track ‚Progression’, the Belgian pairs darting triplets and wobbling sub bass with sparse melodies, allowing each element to wander through vast spaces over seven entrancing minutes. ‘The Come Up’ is more subdued and a nod to the 90’s with broken beats and fragmented synths.)

CTI Carter Tutti (Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti)
( ;D --> Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti formed CHRIS & COSEY out of the ashes of their seminal 70s' Industrial band Throbbing Gristle. Throbbing Gristle (and Carter/Tutti) founded the Industrial music genre and were one of the first bands to successfully fuse electronic and acoustic instrumentation. Their musical legacy is still very much in evidence today. When Throbbing Gristle was terminated in 1981 Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti signed to Rough Trade Records and began recording and performing as CHRIS & COSEY. From the very start they indulgently utilised electronics, sampling, rhythms and Cosey's distinctive vocals, cornet and guitar style. In 1982 (and in collaboration with Rough Trade) they formed their own offshoot record label Conspiracy International (aka: CTI) for their more experimental recordings and collaborative projects. CTI continues to run alongside CARTER and TUTTI's more accessible work.)
