Flavor of the Week #7

Plaid
( ;D --> One of my absolute favorites!)
www.plaidmusic.co.uk/
https://soundcloud.com/plaid
( ;D --> Plaid is a British electronic music duo comprising Andy Turner and Ed Handley, and based out of London. They are former members of The Black Dog and used many other names, such as Atypic (Andrew Turner) and Balil (Ed Handley), before settling on Plaid. They have collaborated with female singers Mara Carlyle, Nicolette and Björk. Although Plaid pre-existed the association, the duo's Ed Handley and Andy Turner spent most of their early recording years with Ken Downie as the dancefloor-confounding Black Dog Productions. Meshing well with Downie's vision of heavily hybridized post-techno and obscurantist thematics.)

The Exaltics

( ;D --> After studying the people of earth for many years the Exaltics came to our planet in 2006 to transmit their message to the people. Here they created their own platform: "solaronemusic" for their final mission. Whilst being amongst us they built up connections with people that understood the exaltic mother tongue. Collaboration partners like Z-bop, Transient Force, Bunker and Last Known Trajectory are examples of home bases on earth.)

Rue Oberkampf
www.facebook.com/RueOberkampf/
https://rueoberkampf.bandcamp.com/
( ;D --> Founded at the end of 2016 by three DJ*s, Rue Oberkampf combines 80s ecstasy with the atmosphere of fog-shrouded, strobe-lit dance temples of the techno era. The combination of urban electronic music’s gritty drive with Julia’s French-German vocals reminds some critics of a more forceful version of Deux or Kirlian Camera: yet at the same time it creates something entirely original.)

Implant
https://www.facebook.com/Implantmusic/
www.implant-music.be
( ;D --> Implant, the project of LEN LEMEIRE, has been trying to contribute to the already massive inheritance of the Belgian electronic scene since 1992. 8 full length albums, 7 EP’s, uncountable remixes and several productions later, one can only agree that the music itself is the universal language. It was because of his music that Len teamed up with several of the early pioneers of electronic music. When ANNE CLARK heard Len’s remix for ‘Sleeper in Metropolis’, Implant became the electronic live band of ANNE CLARK for 5 years, resulting in guest contributions of Anne on 2 albums (‘Audio Blender’ and ‘Self Inflicted’). When Jean-Luc de Meyer (FRONT 242) heard an implant track, he decided not only to contribute vocals for 1 track, but a full blown new project was born under the flag of 32CRASH.)
