( ;D --> Despite the many years still ahead of him, Rone (otherwise known as Erwan Castex) has already come a long way, being one of the most acclaimed young French musicians (he’s just turned 32) on the electronic scene. After passing his Baccalauréat, Erwan was not too sure what he wanted to do for the rest of his life and took up film studies at university. He looks back fondly on this most formative period but, when not in lectures, he would assiduously cultivate his prime passion: music. After obtaining his MA, he started working on film shoots in various roles (including assistant director, production coordinator and set decorator) while continuing to make music in his spare time. And then one day – InFiné – spotted some of his tracks on the web (Bora in particular, which was featured on Agoria’s At The Controls mix) and got in touch with him. From then on, things went very fast: he released his debut EP (2008), performed his first live show at the Rex Club and released his first critically-acclaimed album, Spanish Breakfast, in 2009. Rone’s career had just taken off. Three years have passed since the release of Spanish Breakfast and now his next album, Tohu-Bohu, is coming out.)

Subsequent songs have appeared on a number of television shows.
The duo's first tour took place in 2006, along with the release of their critically acclaimed album Silent Shout. They have won a number of Swedish Grammis, but refuse to attend awards ceremonies. They have appeared in public wearing Venetian masks. Skinny Puppy

( ;D --> Drawing from the pioneering work of artists like Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, and Suicide, the dark avant-industrial group Skinny Puppy formed in 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Originally a duo comprised of former Images in Vogue drummer cEvin Key (born Kevin Crompton) and Nivek Ogre (aka Kevin Ogilvie), Skinny Puppy followed their debut cassette, Back and Forth, with the EP Remission, the first of many recordings with producer David "Rave" Ogilvie, in 1984. With a squsic uique sound of twisted, metaphorical lyrics combined with technoid madness, shock and terror aestethics with an dystopic, eerie feeling of hopelessness. Skinny Puppy are widely considered the founders of electro-industrial music; forming and cultivating the industrial sound that inspired bands such as Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM and Marilyn Manson.

weapon
www.litany.net/posts/2013/02/13/skinny-puppy---weapon-may-2013
www.metropolis-mailorder.com/product.php?prodnum=MET+870
( ;D --> In its nearly three decades of existence, Skinny Puppy has established itself as a groundbreaking innovative voice in the world of electronic music. Fearless in both its musical experimentation and voicing a stance on the issues of our times, the new album, Weapon, is no exception. This stunning new album stands as a commentary on that which it is named after, the Weapon, or more specifically, to the concurrent glorification of the gun culture and simultaneous horror at the devastation the gun can cause. Given this view, the pop undertones of the albums opening “wornin” and the compelling counterpoint of the vocals and lyrics seem to reflect our mass media homogenization of an instrument of death into an entertainment centerpiece. “illisiT" could then be focusing on the authoritarian control applied to us under the guise of protecting us from the criminal element. Though possibly it is from the view of the average citizen, arming themselves against the threat of each other. The more it is analyzed, the more it could be pondered on varying levels. Perhaps the classic Skinny Puppy sounds evident in the song “solvent” are a nod to not only the past, but to a bleak Orwellian future, cycle of the weapon leads only to power in the hands of those who have no fear of using it. Are we facing a 1984 dystopia filtered through a Kafkaesque lens? A world where the illusion of power given to the private citizen afforded ownership of a weapon distracts them from the Big Brother drones that watch overhead? Parallels could certainly be drawn from our own society to a track like “tsudanama”, where the ever building menace of the mechanized rhythms crashes over the listener in waves as the vocals at times seem to take the tone of the voice of protest, standing against the inevitable tide of the dystopian path of progress. Then does “plasiCage” implore the listener to take up the fight against a gun worship culture and the spiraling towards oligarchy? Or are the mournful tones “terminal” a funeral dirge for our society? Could the weapon be the gun, or the one who wields it? Is it in creating an arms race among the populace, or does it lie in the resulting authoritarian control given to those who are charged with protecting us from ourselves? Is it the power to profit from the cycle? Is it the singular act of speaking against the conditioning of our thoughts and actions?)

( ;D --> It is a well known fact that opposites attract. And the encounter of Harald Blüchel & Christopher Von Deylen on Bi Polar proves this once again. Also called Cosmic Baby, the former was rianed at the Nuremberg Conservatory, while the latter stirred Hamburg's nightlife under the pseudonym Schiller. Then one day in Berlin, the idea of a collaboration suddenly seemed obvious. a brilliant blend of electronica and classical music, the work of this German duo comes wrapped in pop, easy-listenning and chillout.)

( ;D --> Download is a Canadian electronic music group formed by Dwayne Goettel and cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy in 1994. The initial lineup also included Off & Gone's Phil Western and Mark Spybey of Dead Voices on Air, but has since been particularly fluid, with Key and Western being the only constant members following Goettel's death. Download's music has been described as post-industrial, drawing from the band's genesis as part of Skinny Puppy but also sharing common stylistic ground with such artists as Aphex Twin and Autechre. The primary instrumentation common throughout their albums is a blend of synthesizers and sampled instruments; the music is particularly centered on elements of percussion and rhythm. Other artists that have been involved are Genesis P. Orridge, Anthony Valcic, Bill Van Rooy, and Ken Marshall. Earlier releases frequently included vocal elements and lyrics, but since III (and Mark Spybey's departure in 1996) their work has been strictly instrumental.)
LingAM

( ;D --> VIn Hindu scripture, the lingam is the beginning-less and endless cosmic pillar, symbolizing the infinite nature of Shiva, and such infinity can be sensed in Download’s latest album. Entitled LingAM, the duo of cEvin Key and Phil Western use their impressive repertoire of skills, synthesizers and sequencers to create a transcendent work of experimental electronica. Analog squelches and percussive grooves blend seamlessly with elements of trance, noise, IDM, and post-industrial to create a beat driven epic. Centered, as with all Download releases, around a pillar of percussion and rhythm, LingAM stands as an enchanting sonic expression.)

( ;D --> Phutureprimitive is the refreshing musical creation of Oregon-based DJ/Producer, Rain. The Phutureprimitive sound is subterranean electronic tribalism, combining elements of organic downtempo, ethnic breaks, and sensual atmospherics. Ethereal vocals soar over dubbed-out basslines, and live percussion unfolds over odd time signatures creating a groove that is influenced by the synthetic textures of psychedelic trance as well as the kinetic grooves of world music.)

#366: A life lived
soundcloud.com/366alifelived
www.facebook.com/366alifelived
( ;D --> #366 A Life Lived might be a new band, the band members are far from newbies. They did hard industrial electro in the nineties as Slug and Headtrip Inc. with demo productions for the latter by Covenant's Eskil Simonsson ("Pure past" 2-track single digitally released on Electric Fantastic Sound in October 2006) and S.P.O.C.K.'s Christer Hermodsson ("MRC Session" 2-track demo). Members shifted and the band broke apart after a gig in Germany in 2001. The 'originals' got together again in 2011 and formed '#366 A Life Lived' with a more experimental electro. Says the band: "We were young, drank lot on gigs and misbehaved. We don't want that anymore. We want the core of music, preferably the electronic version.)
