Efdemin

www.facebook.com/efdemin
( ;D --> Efdemin—Phillip Sollmann, originally from Kassel and based, for the past nine years, in Berlin—has come to savor these sorts of sights in the seven or eight years that he’s been traveling as a DJ. “It’s strange,” he says. “Sometimes you travel for one day, and you end up being in the other side of the world, in Berlin or L.A. or something, and it looks exactly the same. And sometimes it’s sad, I think.” A former student of electroacoustic music in Vienna, he released his first EP on Hamburg’s Dial label, his longtime home base, in 2004, and has spent the past decade winding his way through the house/techno double helix, both as a producer and a DJ. He brings a similar aesthetic to both crafts, carving long, rippling shapes with a dull gleam. There aren’t many DJs whose sets sound more like their own records, and vice versa—no matter whose records he’s playing. In recent years, his own output has slowed; to hear him tell it, studio time has become a victim to his traveling schedule. But he reversed
the trend last fall, when he and his partner, the artist Hanna Schwarz, received a grant to spend three months in Japan working on a collaborative film project. While in Kyoto, Sollmann dug into a hard drive full of sketches and jams he had made back in his studio in Berlin and came up with Decay, his third album.)

( ;D --> They are self-described as being heavily influenced by Krautrock bands, Can and Neu! as well as the early 1990s electronic music artist, Aphex Twin. The lines "We're not a couple of shadowboxers/Oh/Oh/Just two Anglo-Saxons" from the 2008 track Butterfingers and "We were just pretending to be Japanese" from Photocopier may be comments on the band name and how it is perceived.)

( ;D --> John Lindqwister (Cat Rapes Dog, Basswood Dollies etc.) - Vocals, Lyrics | Richard Flow (Vision Talk, Haze For Sale etc.). In december 2012 John and Richard decided to try out a new fresh project beside their other bands. The first result was a cover of David Bowie´s "Heroes", and the band also did a low-fi video for the song. The feedback was awesome from start and the band decided to move along with own written songs. The song "Molecules and carbon" followed the same procedure with a low-fi video and also a soundcloud account to let more people access to the music. Once again the feedback was really good and the band started to have followers on facebook/Soundcloud etc. Also magazines like Sideline, Peek-a-Boo, Elektroskull etc. started to encourage the band.
Xenoglossy

( ;D -->  Xenoglossy - The art of speaking or writing in a language unknown to the Orator. Somewhat appropriate for a band already ripping apart Synthpop boundaries, Machinista sprint across the finish line with "Xenoglossy", before "Arizona Lights" even approaches the final hurdle.  Anticipated hotly since the EP debuted in March, "Xenoglossy" acts on the back of one of the biggest selling records we've ever worked with.  To somewhat counter-balance the tracklisting of the EP, "Xenoglossy" comes with 11 original tracks (closing with a popular cover of David Bowie's "Heroes", and NO remixes - we already have some in the works for a later release.)

Drawing inspiration from the likes of fellow innovators including Harry Partch, Sun Ra, and Captain Beefheart, the Residents channelled the breadth of American music into their idiosyncratic, satiric vision, their mercurial blend of electronics, distortion, avant-jazz, classical symphonies and gratingly nasal vocals reinterpreting everyone from John Philip Sousa to James Brown while simultaneously expanding the boundaries of theatrical performance and multimedia interaction.)

And in Szechuan, the first we’ve yet heard from the now Brooklyn-based producer’s upcoming release, we hear Asiatic mystique adroitly interwoven with twitching synth riffs, synthetic rhythms and attack music taken from These New Puritans’ seminal Hidden, this evocative auteur’s perception of the East thus filtered through certain tropes most commonly associated with this, the Occident. Since 2003, Mushy’s style combines and synthesizes electronica, shoegaze, blues and new-wave, with a psychedelic/kraut soul. Her soundscape-like compositions reveal a spellbinding universe that emerges from the mixture of analog drum-machines, burgeoning cold drones, tempestuous noises and spectral chants. Mushy has been deeply inspired by the works of Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Slowdive, Lush, Minimal Compact, New Order, Swans, Nico, and legendary singers Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. Mushy’s debut album, ‘Faded Heart’,  has been released by Italian underground label Mannequin Records on Feb 2011. It’s an album recorded essentially at home and its lo-fi charms derives from the amalgamation of obsessive drum-machine loops, synths and an effect-processed old and battered acoustic guitar, found in a flea market with only 4 strings. Mushy considers ‘Faded Heart’ as her personal take on blues. The album was picked as Rough Trade’s Album Of The Week, in March 2011 and was described as the most convincing European answer to contemporaneous releases by American artists such as Zola Jesus and Tamaryn.)

Trust
www.ttrustt.com

( ;D --> Trust is the alter ego of Toronto artist Robert Alfons and Maya Postepski. With a soundscape consisting of subtle fragility and delicious sensuality, Trust (alter ego of Robert Alfons) has created one of the most darkly beautiful and atmospheric albums of 2012. Alfons' debut 'TRST' was released this past February and since then, he has taken his provocative sound to clubs across the globe. Dramatic landscapes take us from sonic and sexy to heavy and moody with Alfons' deep laments and moans guiding us through mazes of synth beats and pulsating rhythm. In a world of self-conscious gazes, inhibited desire and overwhelming attraction, the sound of Trust is saturated in a plethora of sounds that take us on an epic trip from places cold and distant to sexy and flirtatious, with rhythm that will incite both lust and the need to dance.)

( ;D --> In 2007 after a few years of exploring the Dutch metal scene, Guido & Pim got bored with screaming guitars and pounding drums, therefore Atiq & EnK joined forces for a new challenge. To create electronic music, without the fear of the unknown.
As years went by they evolved their sound not fearing the experiment and focussed on blending breakbeat and sampling with classical, atmospheric and bass heavy sounds.

God Module

( ;D --> God Module is an American dark electronic band from Orlando, Florida. The band was founded in Florida in 1999 and later relocated to Washington in 2006. God Module combines elements of harsh Techno, Darkwave, Goth and Industrial. Pounding beats mix with hypnotic synth hooks, deranged film samples and psychotically-effected vocals to make up a sound that is as disturbing as it is danceable.  After 4 full length CD's, 3 EP's and hundreds of live performances around the world, God Module is still evolving. God Mod founder Jasyn Bangert has brought his childhood dreams to life as musical nightmares. Aided by God Mod members Clint Carney and Courtney Bangert, God Module take all the common Electro - Gothic - Industrial cliches and systematically tear them apart.)

Thyx

( ;D --> The mind.in.a.box sideproject THYX released their debut single "Into the Realm". It seems that Stefan Poiss, the mastermind behind mind.in.a.box, was getting bored in his studio because now there is a second electronic music project out there penned by him. Big arrangement, sci-fi atmosphere and a very unique sound were the trademarks by mind.in.a.box and made them famous in the Gothic/Electro scene. The sideproject THYX, which was founded by Stefan Poiss in January this year, stays very electronic but gives the sound a more experimental touch without loosing the catchy tunes and atmosphere.)
Electronic sounds, bombastic arrangements, melodies and voices, mixed with emotions from another dimension. Atmospheres from cyberspace, a musical image from a far-away future from which THYX speaks to us and carries its sound cosmos directly into the brains of listeners.)

Eno I Hyde
enohyde.com
( ;D --> Warp announce a very special collaboration between Brian Eno and Karl Hyde of Underworld. The album is comprised of nine songs, composed and sung by Eno • Hyde together with a highly distinguished cast of supporting musicians, including Tessa Angus, Nell Catchpole, Marianna Champion, Will Champion, Kasia Daszykowska, Don E., Darla Eno, Fred Gibson, Georgie Gibson, Andy Mackay, John Reynolds and Chris Vatalaro.
The release was produced by Brian Eno with 20 year old Fred Gibson, continuing an ongoing collaboration between Karl and Brian which sees the two together on a complete album for the very first time.
Brian Eno:
“A lot of the nicer cities I know are cities built on hills, and the cities are beautiful because the buildings have a challenge to adapt to. They have to mould themselves around the geology that they've formed upon. And that always makes for very interesting buildings, because they can't just be blocks, they have to somehow morph around the environment. A lot of the constructions on the album were deliberately irregular and awkward.
I had a big collection of 'beginnings' sitting around waiting for something to galvanise them into life, to make them more than just 'experiments'. That something turned out to be Karl Hyde.”
Karl Hyde:
“It's a bit like being nine years old again.  You have no idea what you've just been given, the record button has been pressed and you're on. And then these unlikely patterns start to happen. The biggest surprise was discovering we both had a love of Afrobeat, Cyclical music based in live playing. When Brian played me these early tracks it was, 'Oh my god, this is home! Can I borrow a guitar?”)

( ;D --> Amethystium is a musical project founded by Øystein Ramfjord around 1998. Hard to pigeon-hole as belonging in one specific category, the music can be described as a blend of new age, darkwave, ethno-ambient and electronica. Sonicly it ranges from dreamy and relaxing, to relatively upbeat, all with an evoking, atmospheric, and sometimes dark and moody soundscape.)
