Flavor of the week #26

CEO
www.ceoceoceoceoceo.com
( ;D --> One half of Tough Alliance will be running alone this year, bunking down as a new moniker, ceo. Known by the real name, Eric Burgland, the Gothenburg based producer has come up with some inventive folk based electronic music which will released on his debut album White Magic on Australia’s very own Modular (Cut Copy,The Presets) ceo maintains an elusive persona, whispering from his strange website, "ceo arises in 1981 and 1891. in 3064 and tomorrow. after ibrahimovic and before nectanebo II. before the dark ages and after spring break. before time was, ceo is....ceo is you and you are me and i am ceo."
Whatever that means, it can only mean one thing, Scandinavian artiness is now in full force.)

( ;D --> Ctrl Alt Delete is a staggering work of mind-warping electronics, fuzzed-out psych and devastating hip-hop beats. Combining dusty swap-meet samples, futuristic synthesizers and live instrumentation.)

Shriekback

( ;D --> Shriekback is not an easy band to classify. They borrowed heavily from funk but had a very different agenda; their music was more suited for contemplation than for parties. They combined synthesizers and drum machines with throbbing bass lines and unorthodox vocals to evoke a primordial world where the line between human and animal was blurred. Shriekback's music was always an appropriate soundtrack for life in the dark, but with the emphasis on the possibilities rather than the dangers. Though often haunting, it was not gothic and harbored strains of pop and dance that rose to the surface from time to time.)

"This Big Hush" (from the Reba and Dollarhyde love scene).
"Evaporation" (from when Will is checking out the Leeds' house).
"Coelocanth" (from the famous "Reba and the Tiger" scene).)
