Flavor of the Week #40

( ;D --> Kode9 (born Steve Goodman in Glasgow, Scotland) is a London-based electronic music artist, DJ, and owner of the Hyperdub record label. An MC, The Spaceape, is a frequent collaborator. Initially inspired by what he calls the "hardcore continuum", he also draws on dub reggae, and was one of the founding members of the early dubstep scene (which he views as a continuation of developments originally stemming from UK Hardcore). He appeared on the Grime compilation on Rephlex, and released the full-length album Memories of the Future (featuring the Spaceape) on his own label Hyperdub. Kode9 has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Warwick and has published a book, Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect, and the Ecology of Fear.)

( ;D --> Schwarzblut (full name: Die goetheanistische Tonkunstgesellschaft Schwarzblut) is a Gesamstkunstwerk. A collective work of art, based on historic German poetry and carried by organic-electronic music. Schwarzblut’s work is outlined by a haunting visual context of imagery in their album artwork and during live shows. Each Schwarzblut release is a group effort, including the arts of composing, poetry, fashion, photography, video and design. Each Schwarzblut live show too is a performance featuring these ingredients.)

( ;D --> Dark and romantic. Tearing at the seams of convention. Where logic meets emotion, there is struggle is the best description you can find for the second studio album by Unitary entitled 'Misantrophy'. Every track name represents a different word for Misanthropy, and the flaws which all humans possess. 'Misanthropy' is a towering achievement of sheer musical power and lyrical subtlety. Floating electropop with an edge.)

( ;D --> Through their huge discography, the band have proven themselves able to deliver everything from ethereal electronic pop to highly charged dancefloor industrial with equal skill. Although some modern electronica elements and other various influences have seeped into Regenerator’s sound, their unique style has always surprisingly remained intact, revolving around their characteristic shared male & female vocals. Wrex’s sombre melancholic growling vocals indeed always enter in perfect duality with Patrice’s wide ranging and breathy sensual vocals.)
