Originally set for a 2009 release, Dark Night of Soul was designed by Sparklehorse to be a multimedia project with producer Danger Mouse and movie director David Lynch. ( ;D --> Jamie Vex'd slips into his Kuedo moniker for a delightfully wonky mix of bass music.Even if you only have a passing interest in the more sub-heavy end of dance music, chances are you'll have heard of Vex'd. Jamie Teasdale and Roly Porter's fusion of dubstep with industrial and UK rave music on 2005's Degenerate album paved the way for countless international and festival appearances. Tiring of the hectic schedule and life in London, the pair decided to move from the city in early '07, with Roly heading west to Bristol and Jamie jetting to Berlin. Unfortunately, this meant that producing collaborative Vex'd material for their planned second album was a slow and difficult process, and they consequently decided to each focus on their own solo material. Jamie has been the more prolific of the two thus far, again aligning himself with Mike Paradinas' Planet Mu imprint for 12-inches both as Jamie Vex'd, and more recently under his new Kuedo moniker. The recent material has seen Teasdale move away from the dark and industrial dubstep sound of Vex'd, instead taking inspiration from the new wave of off-kilter beatsmiths that have emerged in the post-Dilla era.)

In 1983 “Problèmes d’Amour”, a track he composed for Materiali Sonori/Fuzz Dance, an Italian Independent label, was an international hit and with time became a true “cult” of electronic dance music. In the late 80s and 90s MD got involved with different music genres and gave up the nickname that had made him popular. In 2002 Maurizio Dami, once again AR, became a DJ , beside continuing to produce music. Since 2003 AR has been djing and performing live in numerous clubs around the world playing both his old school tracks as well as the best of current electro-disco and electro-house. In 2002 HEM, Robotnick’s label , released “Oh no…Robotnick!” . Since then Robotnick has been producing electronic music for several labels. Ludus Pinsky (Lapo Lombardi) is a musician and composer who's been active and known in the Florentine Reggae music scene since the 80s (Il Generale, Jaka). More recently he's further developed his experience with music by letting his dub soul blend with Ambient and World Fusion projects (Chi, Alkemya).)

( ;D --> According to founder Claus Larsen, Leæther Strip is, and always will be, only him. Larsen was born on November 13, 1967 in Aalborg, Denmark. He first released music under the name of Leæther Strip in 1989. However, his 1995 release G.A.W.M.U.S. (Getting Away With Murder U. S.) included two early demos from 1982 and 1984, with the latter forming the unknown beginning of the band according to an interview conducted with Claus Larsen. In 1991, Larsen created a side-project called Klute in which he also remained the sole member. It can be argued, and is by many, that the sound of Leæther Strip throughout the early 1990s helped define what is today known as electro-industrial. In a search performed on MySpace on December 1st, 2008, 294 bands had listed Leæther Strip (or "Leather Strip") as a musical influence, although the true number of bands influenced by Larsen's work is undoubtedly much higher. In 1994, Claus Larsen drastically changed the sound of Leæther Strip, with the release of a synthesized semi classical album. Conceived as a soundtrack to a fictional film, it was named Serenade for the Dead. The releases since then have reincorporated electronic dance elements, and have redefined Leæther Strip into what Larsen calls, "symphonic electro".)

( ;D --> Shriekback is not an easy band to classify. They borrowed heavily from funk but had a very different agenda; their music was more suited for contemplation than for parties. They combined synthesizers and drum machines with throbbing bass lines and unorthodox vocals to evoke a primordial world where the line between human and animal was blurred. Shriekback's music was always an appropriate soundtrack for life in the dark, but with the emphasis on the possibilities rather than the dangers. Though often haunting, it was not gothic and harbored strains of pop and dance that rose to the surface from time to time.)
