Flavor of the Week #28

Matthew Dear
( ;D --> Depending on whom you ask, Matthew Dear is a DJ, a dance-music producer, an experimental pop artist, a bandleader. He co-founded both Ghostly International and its dancefloor offshoot, Spectral Sound. He’s had remixes commissioned by The XX, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Spoon, Hot Chip, The Postal Service, and Chemical Brothers; he’s made mixes for the Fabric mix series and Get Physical’s Body Language. He maintains four aliases (Audion, False, Jabberjaw, and Matthew Dear), each with its own style and distinct visual identity.)
Her Fantasy

( ;D --> Director Tommy O'Haver's video for "Her Fantasy" takes us on a journey through bizarre sequences of debauchery and seduction with a hint of humor, as he pays homage to Avant Garde filmmaker Kenneth Anger in a self-described "mash-up.")
( ;D --> New album, "Beams" available on August 27th (UK/Europe) and August 28th (US).)

Sigur Rós
( ;D --> You can forgive Sigur Ro´s for being hazy on the details of the recording of their sixth album Valtari. It’s either the album they always wanted to make, or the album they almost didn’t make, depending on how you look at it. In 2011, the band started the painstaking forensic task of piecing together a cohesive and magical work from disparate constituent parts. If this sounds unromantic, the results are anything but. Something alchemical occurs when the four members of Sigur Ro´s are in the room together, and even if Valtari is more a “studio based” album than any of its predecessors (which usually start life as rehearsal room jams), the long hours of experimentation and unsentimental editing have yielded incredibly persuasive results.)

Fc Kahuna
( ;D --> FC Kahuna (also known as FC/Kahuna or Jon and Dan Kahuna) are a British DJ and electronic music production duo, consisting of Jon Nowell and Daniel Ormondroyd.
