( ;D --> So Beautiful and So Dangerous… rarely has so appropriate a title ever been given to a work of art as on the latest album from the New York experimental collective known as Dream into Dust. Never ones to succumb to easy categorization with their effective mix of emotionally charged melody and avant-garde soundscapes, the duo of Derek Rush and Bryin Dall have spent the better part of six years working on a worthwhile follow-up to 2003’s The Lathe of Heaven, an album that in this writer’s mind stands as one of the past decade’s most overlooked and most devastating musical experiences. With this third full-length album, the band pulls all the stops to take listeners through a nightmarishly satisfying journey that is as depressing as it is blissful, as introspective as it is expansive.)

A penchant for rising chords means that all his melodies make you feel like raising your arms and face to the sun. Talabot also has arguably the greatest sense of build-and-release in dance music since prime Booka Shade: ƒin is full of incredible tension-releasing moments, from the extended break in Destiny to the entrance of Missing You's bouncing bass. The generosity of Talabot's sound can also be ascribed to the amount of disparate ingredients he puts to use in service of his aesthetic – particularly the variety of human voices on display. There are wordless chants and bright, optimistic pop hooks; an echoing scream is plucked from a horror film and deposited in the middle of a carnival on Oro y Sangre, while on So Will Be Now, cut-up vocals coalesce gradually and gorgeously into recognisable language.)

Unlike so many other live albums, there is no editing magic or trickery. These are the songs as they were played: captured from the soundboard and a handheld recorder by Ken ‘Hi-Watt’ Marshall. Distorted pads swirl in whirlwinds of vortex like cylinders. It’s a piece of perfectly crafted technoid mayhem. On the flip: ‘Feathermen’ begs the questions: Who are they? What will they do? What is their mission? All remains unanswered, except to acknowledge that a vile plan is at work. It’s an hypnotic trip that eerily changes with every play. The main riff attacks your cranium with subtle but deadly force, eating its way into your soul. Shuffling rhythmic drum patterns are juxtaposed with curious bells and creeping washes. The Feathermen are in control. Last on the flip: ‘Pandemic’ is the absolute realization of a contaminated world. The pathogen continues to take down more and more of the planet. Steeped in urgency & despair, the space-age break gives insight to how the world might be after the annihilation….a new beginning or a end of all ends? You must decide. One thing to conclude is that however much they unleash their destruction, they can never defeat nature itself. ‘Solenoid’ delivers a distinctive, badass EP that additionally works sweet as a DJ tool.)Colony

The focus of every project is to find an efficient and direct way to leave a strong emotional impact, whether it is the production of an album or the conception and completion of a commercial project. The concept of investing a lot of thought and therefore making every production special rather than settling with something fast and convenient is the driving force behind every project as well as the thought that every score, commission, track, or remix should get the same amount of attention and detail. In short: moving away from music and sound as a product and perceive every project as a customizable and individual challenge.)

William Kouam Djoko

( ;D --> William Kouam Djoko was born near the Dutch The Hague and was raised by a Cameroonian father and Dutch-Ukrainian mother. Ever since his childhood he’s been affected by rhythm, soul and music in general. Starting off as a (professional) dancer, he ended up with playing music when he joined forces with Pete Bandit, Jason Shae and Newton Da Costa to form Jason & The Argonauts. With William mainly focusing on the vocals they ended up to be one of the first and most successful minimal house live acts in the Dutch scene. In the summer of 2011, Jason & The Argonauts are playing their two very last shows, a closure to very beautiful chapter in the book of William’s musical career. William’s solo career, which really started in 2008, with a full 12” on ThirtyOneTwenty, will always benefit from all the experience he accumulated being one of the Argonauts. The “Hard Loving” release earned international respect and gave William a perfect way to present himself as one of Amsterdam’s most diverse and creative house producers.  A lot of big gun producers and DJ’s picked up William’s interesting sound which earned him spots on some of the most respected compilations around like the Watergate, Cocoon and Balance series. His sound, which characterized by full grooves with freaky bits and pieces, got floors shaking from Italy to Berlin and from Barcelona to London. William takes it to the proverbial next level.)

Orbital

www.orbitalofficial.com
( ;D --> Orbital are a British electronic dance music duo from Sevenoaks, England consisting of brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll. Their career initially ran from 1989 until 2004, but in 2009 they announced that they would be reforming and headlining The Big Chill, in addition to a number of other live shows in 2009.The band's name was taken from Greater London's orbital motorway, the M25, which was central to the early rave scene and party network in the South East during the early days of acid house. One of the biggest names in British electronica during the 1990s, Orbital were both critically and commercially successful, and known particularly for their element of live improvisation during shows, a rarity among techno acts. They were initially influenced by early electro and punk rock.)

Photek
http://photek.fm
( ;D --> Rupert Parkes (born 1972, St Albans, England), known as Photek, is a Los Angeles-based British record producer and DJ.He joined the drum and bass scene relatively early (his first release was in 1992, a collaboration with Rob Solomon a.k.a. Lexis), and is still one of its most respected players. In the mid-to-late Nineties he was a very active remixer, and he has also done some soundtrack work, most notably for The Animatrix. His early tracks are somewhat ambient, but already feature the rhythm pattern of his seminal 1997 work Modus Operandi, which embodies most of his mid-nineties style: atmospheric, but at the same time very cold and paranoid, consisting mostly of jazz-influenced, highly complex drum patterns and sequenced double bass lines, sometimes with minimalistic synth melodies on top. Photek is also influenced by traditional Japanese music and culture, with song titles as "Ni-Ten-Ichi-Ryu (2 Swords Technique)"(named after the Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu technique) and "The Seven Samurai" (named after the movie of the same name). His 1998 follow up to Modus Operandi was the Form & Function compilation album, featuring older tracks, in both original and remixed form. His album Solaris (released in 2000) saw Parkes taking his music in a new direction, with gloomy house tracks alongside free-form ambient noise and the usual snare drum attacks. It included the house single "Mine to Give" (featuring Robert Owens), which reached the top spot of Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play in 2001.After Solaris, he paid his way out of his contract with Virgin Records sublabel Science, and continued to release 12-inch singles on his own Photek Productions label. These tracks are more club-oriented and reminiscent of the recent work of Roni Size. Parkes also worked with Nine Inch Nails on the album With Teeth by providing additional programming on "All The Love In The World" and remixing the single "The Hand That Feeds." He's rumored to also have been working with Pharrell. His most recent compilation album Form & Function Vol. 2 was released on 24 September 2007. He also contributed music to the movie Dreamland. He continues to be based in L.A. working on new, as yet unreleased music - he tweeted in 2009 that he was making dubstep [1]. In November 2010, Radio 1 DJ Benji B played a brand new track by Photek titled '101',sparking rumours of new Photek music to be released in early 2011. In January 2011 it was announced via Photek's official website that he would be releasing a new
EP, Avalanche, in February and that one of its tracks "Slowburn" is available for free download from the site. On 28 February 2011, Photek released the Avalanche EP through his own label, Photek Productions, featuring four original tracks plus a remix by Boddika. In an interview with online music blog 'Fact Magazine' in March 2011, Photek disclosed his plans to release a new "...series of EPs where the best content can be cherry-picked for an album at the end of that series." Plus, "I’ve got a release coming out on Pinch's label, Tectonic called 'Closer'".Photek released his second EP of 2011 in May, titled the Aviator EP on his own label. He then released the aforementioned single "Closer" on Tectonic, which featured a remix by label boss Pinch. Photek has done a number of remixes himself in 2011, for the likes of Moby, Distance, Karin Park and Jess Mills. In December 2011 he was nominated for the 54th Grammy Awards in the 'Best Remix' category for his rework of Daft Punk's 'End Of Line' for the Tron Legacy soundtrack.)
