( ;D --> "Fuck the beach, give me the tundra. Terminal Twilight are bucking trends -dropping gigantic blocks of ice on them, in fact. These songs are cleaner and more neatly constructed than a German Army parka, fresh off the factory line. Not one grain of distortion to be found in the seams ... in accordance with their name, Terminal Twilight have ... a late night, introspective groove going on. And, to put the metaphor to bed, this stuff’s COLD.")

( ;D --> Tuomas Rantanen comes from Finland and his musical style is dark industrial techno. He has created a very unique music expression where strong driving percussions and rhythms combines to cold and dark atmosphere and ambience elements. Prior to his own music productions he studied classical guitar and theory of music at Tampere Conservatory, and in 1995 he also started to make his own music productions. Tuomas Rantanen strives to depict the soundscape of the modern technological society and its change through the medium electronic music. His aim has been to describe how nature has changed to an industrial nature and to show how radically the soundscapes surrounding us have also changed in a short period of time. In his music Rantanen tries to convey the feeling of how natural sounds have been replaced with different industrial, mechanic and electronic sounds over the course of time.)

( ;D --> “Cloughley (Anodyne) may have been absent from the scene for more than a decade, but his return is strangely timely; the Anodyne sound, while drawing on the sonic tropes of the 90s, finds touchstones with the searing industrial techno of the Downwards camp and the paranoiac bass pressure of dubstep’s more screwfaced exponents. Not to mention his being embraced by the establishment figures he clearly admires, from Rob Hall of Skam to Warp stalwarts Autechre, Plaid and The Black Dog.)

( ;D --> ∆AIMON is a male/female duo working within the dark-electronic genre to produce atmospheric and unsettling compositions. Following the success of 'AMEN', their 2010 debut, FLATLINER builds upon their previous work by peeling back the frayed edges that flirt under overblown production in order to expose a clearly defined, beautiful intensity.
Wearing their influences on their sleeves, the slow, claustrophobic works fit well within the witch-house movement but will definitely appeal to any fans of cold, dark, and occult aesthetics. ∆AIMON's deliberate and methodical approach plays out like a surgical knife, cutting deep and equally precise with heavy beats and concrete synths. Released by the Bay Area label Tundra Dubs, these six new tracks continue to play with the push/pull structure found in ∆AIMON's earlier works but FLATLINER is set apart most obviously by its passionate delivery. Every vocal line and every explicit layer within the dense orchestrations seem built with a specific intent. Dense and weighed heavily by a bleak and oddly romantic sentiment.)

Amirali
http://soundcloud.com/amiraliofficial/
( ;D --> Amirali’s journey has taken him from living in Iran to Toronto to London where he now resides, via an architecture degree. Growing up in the city of Tehran, and starting piano lessons from the age of 5, Amirali’s main musical influence was his father’s record collection, which opened his eyes to classical, jazz, blues and rock'n'roll. At the age of 16 Amirali’s family immigrated to Toronto in the hope of a better future. Amirali’s musical prowess wasn’t picked up on until he transferred his architecture university studies to London in 2010. He now confesses the move was driven more by musical aspirations rather than academic. This proved to be a very good decision indeed. His mysterious and haunting vocals and forward thinking musical style caught the attention of A&R extraordinaire and Rebels head honcho Damian Lazarus. Damian promptly signed him for an artist album, and used his track ‘My Way’ to open his visionary compilation CD - Get Lost 4. This was quickly followed by the hit single release ‘Beautiful World’ which reared its head in January 2012 and gained huge acclaim from DJs and music aficionados alike. His sound is guaranteed to make your mouth water and your feet tap and his output is a brilliant mish mash of house, techno, funk, electronica, disco and everything in between. Think Depeche Mode jet propelled into the 22nd century whilst being chauffeured by Art Department & Underworld.)

Heimataerde builds up a dense tapestry of evocative music, visual arts, design and storytelling, inspired by the epic Templars and demon-red Middle Ages. With its sinister blend of massive electro and unusual instruments like bagpipes and cymbals, Heimataerde garnered attention from fans and reviewers alike. At a loss for a fitting description of Heimataerde s music, the press invented the term medieval-electro. Ashlar von Megalon is the narrator that leads us through this hellish scenario, having assigned himself the role of eternal wanderer on a quest for answers and a hidden truth. Heimataerde a paints a dark world of the forgotten avenger, following the trail of suppressed guilt and half-forgotten crimes rising to the surface with a vengeance, expanding the atmosphere of its self-created genre.)

( ;D --> So Beautiful and So Dangerous… rarely has so appropriate a title ever been given to a work of art as on the latest album from the New York experimental collective known as Dream into Dust. Never ones to succumb to easy categorization with their effective mix of emotionally charged melody and avant-garde soundscapes, the duo of Derek Rush and Bryin Dall have spent the better part of six years working on a worthwhile follow-up to 2003’s The Lathe of Heaven, an album that in this writer’s mind stands as one of the past decade’s most overlooked and most devastating musical experiences. With this third full-length album, the band pulls all the stops to take listeners through a nightmarishly satisfying journey that is as depressing as it is blissful, as introspective as it is expansive.)

John Talabot
http://soundcloud.com/john-talabot
www.myspace.com/johntalabot
( ;D --> Barcelona house producer John Talabot has a knack for capturing the very specific kind of bliss associated with dancing on Mediterranean beaches at the height of summer. A penchant for rising chords means that all his melodies make you feel like raising your arms and face to the sun. Talabot also has arguably the greatest sense of build-and-release in dance music since prime Booka Shade: ƒin is full of incredible tension-releasing moments, from the extended break in Destiny to the entrance of Missing You's bouncing bass. The generosity of Talabot's sound can also be ascribed to the amount of disparate ingredients he puts to use in service of his aesthetic – particularly the variety of human voices on display. There are wordless chants and bright, optimistic pop hooks; an echoing scream is plucked from a horror film and deposited in the middle of a carnival on Oro y Sangre, while on So Will Be Now, cut-up vocals coalesce gradually and gorgeously into recognisable language.)

Originally a duo comprised of former Images in Vogue drummer cEvin Key (born Kevin Crompton) and Nivek Ogre (aka Kevin Ogilvie), Skinny Puppy followed their debut cassette, Back and Forth, with the EP Remission, the first of many recordings with producer David "Rave" Ogilvie, in 1984. With a squsic uique sound of twisted, metaphorical lyrics combined with technoid madness, shock and terror aestethics with an dystopic, eerie feeling of hopelessness. Skinny Puppy are widely considered the founders of electro-industrial music; forming and cultivating the industrial sound that inspired bands such as Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM and Marilyn Manson.)Bootlegged, Broke And In Solvent Seas (released on June 12.)

( ;D --> Metropolis Records writes: "Raw, uncompromising, and visceral, Skinny Puppy live cannot be called simply a concert. It is an experience. Bootlegged, Broke And In Solvent Seas proves this to be true. Recorded in Warsaw, Bratislava, Hildesheim, and Budapest, this is a documentation of Skinny Puppy in top form. Unlike so many other live albums, there is no editing magic or trickery. These are the songs as they were played: captured from the soundboard and a handheld recorder by Ken ‘Hi-Watt’ Marshall. Ogre’s powerful vocal performances coupled with cEvin Key’s synth modulations and sound manipulations and the machine-precise drums of Justin Bennet make this a stunning testimony to the power of this legendary act.")

( ;D --> Husband are Gianlorenzo and Chiara. They share a love for old American vintage cars, volcanoes, and holidays on Sicily. Hailing from Italy's creative ground zero that is Bologna, they are set out to win the hearts of the pop-savvy people in Europe with their hyperactive tribal jams and off-kilter drone sounds. Whilst Gianlorenzo is not an unknown person in the sprawling Italian pop scene, having toured Europe with his outfit Buzz Aldrin and being affiliated with the likes of His Clancyness and Banjo Or Freakout, Chiara is the dark horse, having almost no musical experiences. They rocked one of London's finest clubs, Corsica Studios, earlier last year in their very first gig together.)
